Hallmark Fans Have Big Holiday Event Ideas For Network
In the past week, there have been some major changes at Hallmark Media. The leadership team includes CEO Mike Perry, who replaced Wonya Lucas when she stepped down back in August 2023. Also, Lisa Hamilton Daly’s EVP of Programming position is now eliminated. Instead, Chief Brand Officer Darren Abbott will be leading a marketing approach to experiences and content.
Viewers who went to Kansas City for the Hallmark Christmas Experience participated in one of these types of events. Another was the two cruises. Now that the dust has settled, some fans have shared some of their ideas. What are they?
Hallmark Fans Have Big Ideas For Events
The network has a new leadership team. What sorts of possibilities could they try? On Reddit, under the “Hallmark Leadership Change topic,” fans shared some creative ideas that current Chief Brand Officer Darren Abbott could certainly try. What are some of these ideas?
- As for branding, I think there are a lot of opportunities that could come to fruition. I can imagine Hallmark partnering with hotels and resorts to offer Hallmark experiences and themed rooms. Maybe even Hallmark Christmas hotels or inns that are transformed seasonally. Are they doing that already?
- I can see Hallmark destinations like ski villages or small towns that are decked out in traditional Hallamrk scenes. Taking the Kansas City Hallmark experience weekends on the road to other cities. And even contests for regular people to be in a Hallmark movie. The list is endless.
- I suspect Hallmark will continue monetizing the holiday rom-com experience and keep expanding the programs you mentioned like partnering with Wyndham hotels for Christmas rooms, offering the Hallmark experience in cruises, and renewing Finding Mr. Christmas.
Finding Mr. Christmas Is Returning For Season 2
One of the new television experiences that was on the newly branded streaming channel, Hallmark+ was the reality series Finding Mr. Christmas. Best of all, Jonathan Bennett will be hosting again. Moreover, this will pit another group of potential leading men to compete to star in a Christmas movie. Some of the examples were moving a Christmas tree, working with a dog, or dancing with a leading lady. Of course, there is also that kiss that is featured by the end of each movie.
Viewers loved the experience of watching the competition. Also, they enjoyed seeing the final movie product. Subsequently, this became a family event that brought a different Christmas perspective. This was a different sort of event that changed the Christmas movie experience.
Viewers, what sorts of events would you like to see the network try? Please share your favorite sort of holiday movie trope and how this could be incorporated into a fan experience.
