Parker Schnabel Suffers Another Setback On ‘Gold Rush’
Parker Schnabel has run into a lot of trouble this season on Gold Rush. He is usually someone who sees the gold pour in. While other miners on the Discovery Channel reality series struggle, Parker is always on top of things. That changed this season when he might have bitten off more than he can chew by starting a new claim.
In this week’s episode, Parker decided he was going to push things harder than ever, and it backfired on him. Parker is falling further behind his goals. Here is a look at what is going wrong now.
Parker Schnabel Sees Machine Break, Falls Behind On Gold Rush
Parker Schnabel has faced too many problems this season with his Dominion Creek claim. He has seen the ground give him problems. He has brought in low gold totals. He is starting to see his crew lose motivation. Now, he has seen a machine break, which cost him more money and time.
Last week, Parker saw Big Red break a spring, forcing him to halt action for a little too long. This week, he saw more problems arise. He is already at a $2.5 million deficit after nine weeks. He has only found $1 million in gold. As a result, he is pushing his crew and machines even harder, trying to play catch up.
Parker added a third wash plant to Dominion Creek. This one he named “Bob,” and his goal is to have three running to hopefully bring in 900 ounces of gold in the next three weeks. There was one big problem when “Bob” arrived. The crew found three was a tear in Bob’s conveyor belt. The team had to race to repair the belt so they could get it up and running.
“Bob” at the Ken and Stuart Cuts joins Big Red at Bridge Cut and Roxanne at Long Cut. The team got “Bob” running, and it was time to play catch up.
What Did Parker Schnabel Get From The Three Wash Plants
The disappointing thing is that Parker Schnabel didn’t do as well as he hoped on the first weigh-in after getting the three wash plants running. They are still very much behind this season on Gold Rush.
Big Red produced 58.85 ounces of gold ($147,000). Roxanne brought in 185.65 ounces ($464,000). Bob only brought in 58.45 ounces ($146,000). This puts Parker at 1,107 ounces for the season. His goal is 10,000 ounces.
Parker showed frustration, but he still seems optimistic that he can get the gold he needs to hit his goals as the season wears on. However, the preview for next week’s show reveals at least one team member might walk on him.
