CBS Pulls ‘Fire Country’ Over Los Angeles Wildfires
CBS has pulled an episode of Fire Country that had previously been scheduled. This was due to sensitivity concerning the Los Angeles wildfires. Notably, the network has also made other similar moves in light of the recent fire.
An Episode Had Been Planned To Air On January 10
Fire Country premiered back in October 2022. The following January, it had been renewed for a second season. A third season later premiered back in October 2024.
The premise of the series revolves around Bode Leone, a convict who volunteers for a prison program where he helps with Cal Fire, or the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Assigned to his hometown, he finds himself working with former friends and other inmates to fight fires in the region.
According to Monsters & Critics, however, the series has been pulled by CBS’ primetime schedule. Reportedly, this was due to sensitivity over the current Los Angeles wildfires.
An episode had been scheduled to air on January 10, believed to be a repeated third season episode. However, prior to the airing, CBS announced it would air an episode of NCIS: Sydney instead.
This meant viewers got to see back-to-back episodes of NCIS: Sydney before S.W.A.T. finished the night. The NCIS: Sydney episodes were from the debut season, having aired last year.
Fire Country is currently on a winter hiatus. This means viewers did not miss any new episodes due to the schedule change.
Another Fire Country episode is scheduled for January 13. However, as the publication noted, it is unclear if CBS will continue to air the episode.
CBS Also Called For Donations Amid The Fire On Social Media
Fire Country is also expected to resume its third season on January 31. Similarly, it is unclear if the recent change will impact the intended schedule.
It also remains to be seen if 9-1-1, another Los Angeles-based show revolving around first responders, will be impacted by the move. Currently on hiatus at ABC, new episodes are expected to have a March release.

As previously reported, many television shows were impacted by the recent wildfires, which erupted this past Tuesday. This past Wednesday, many shows announced that production had been halted.
Taking to Instagram, CBS also shared that the upcoming premiere of Hollywood Squares had been delayed to January 16, 2025. The post was also shared by the show’s official Instagram page.
CBS also shared a post asking for donations amid the blaze. As written in the caption, “Help the [American Red Cross] support those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.”
As noted by The Express U.S., at least 10 people are believed to have perished in the fire. With thousands of buildings damaged or destroyed, the recent fire is considered one of the most destructive in Los Angeles history.
