‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Player Uses Game To Propose Marriage
Wheel of Fortune is in the middle of Ryan Seacrest’s first season hosting the show. There have been some fun moments, even with vocal online fans’ complaints about Ryan and the current guests. This week, there was another big, fun moment in the series as the puzzle board was used for a special purpose.
Man Proposes Using Wheel Of Fortune Puzzle Board
On Thursday’s brand-new Wheel of Fortune episode, Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White revealed that their team helped the boyfriend of a contestant pop the question during the show’s taping. The two then explained how this happened with the contestant, a woman named Rhea Mathew.
“We’re celebrating milestones in honor of our 50th anniversary and actually had one happen earlier in the week right here on the set,” Seacrest said (via YouTube). “Robin, the boyfriend of former contestant Rhea, reached out for our help in asking her a big question.” Ryan then went on to explain what they did.
Rhea previously appeared on Wheel of Fortune in October 2023, and she was back for the show’s 50th anniversary season. In the game, Rhea had a chance to solve the puzzle, and the answer was, “Will You Marry Me.” At that moment, announcer Jim Thornton said, “Nicely done,” and then her boyfriend Robin walked onto the set.
Rhea looked a little confused before Robin dropped to his knee and said, “Rhea Susan Mathew, will you marry me?” She nodded in shock.
Seacrest said, “I think she was really surprised.” Vanna White said, “Yes that was so heart-warming.” Ryan said he loved that this was something they could do on the show, and Vanna agreed, saying, “You never know what’s going to happen around here.”
