CBS Announces ‘Tracker’ Return Date Later Than Expected

Tracker: Justin Hartley

Tracker remains the most-watched scripted TV show currently. It is on its mid-season break, and many fans hoped to see it return in January, along with many other shows. However, CBS revealed its return date, and the Justin Hartley show is returning much later than many fans might have expected.

Here is when Tracker will return with the second half of Season 2 and what fans can expect when it returns.

Tracker Season 2 Mid-Season Return Date

Tracker Season 2 went on its mid-season hiatus at the start of December. This was around the same time that all scripted shows took their holiday breaks. However, while many shows will return in the next few weeks, Tracker‘s break will last longer.

Tracker won’t return for the rest of Season 2 until later in February. The next episode returns to CBS on February 16, 2025. This episode will air after several major event series, which explains why it will wait as long as that to return. The Super Bowl and several awards shows will air before its return.

What Will Happen When Tracker Returns?

When Tracker returns, it will pick up where the mid-season finale finished up. The eighth episode of Season 2 was called “Night Movers,” and it aired on December 1, 2024. That saw Colter (Hartley) and Camille (Floriana Lima) reunite. It also revealed that Camile’s missing sister might still be alive.

There should also be plenty of other things happening involving Colter’s investigations and family issues in the second half of the season. The return episode will focus on Camile’s sister. He will also work with a retired cop named Keaton (Brent Sexton) to track down a serial killer known as The Teacher.

It was The Teacher who forced Frank (Ryan Dorsey) to lure Camile’s sister to The Farm. The big mystery is who The Teacher is, and if this episode doesn’t reveal it, that will be a mystery that could play out over the rest of the season. It could create an overarching storyline rather than a case-of-the-week format.

“[This story line] has been built in a way that, when you look at it, you go, ‘Oh man, that was a pivotal moment in Colter’s life that changed the way he approaches his work and his relationships with other people,’” Hartley said about the moment (via Us Weekly).

Tracker returns to CBS on Sunday, February 16, at 8 p.m. ET. New episodes stream the next day on Paramount+.
