When people appear on Jeopardy!, they have a chance to win a lot of money. The best can win hundreds of thousands of dollars. However, most people who show up on the show leave with just their basic payouts as runners-up. That is what happened to Zoe Grobman, a therapist from Pennsylvania. However, after the show, she got a huge surprise.

Here is what Zoe was given after her loss on the hit game show from her favorite band.

Famous Band Rewards Super Fan After Jeopardy! Appearance

Zoe Grobman, a therapist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, competed on Jeopardy!, but she lost a tough game. However, she returned to the series in the post-season when she got a chance to participate in the Second Chance Jeopardy! Tournament. This special tournament gave players a second chance to make it to the Tournament of Champions.

Zoe spoke to Ken Jennings during the tournament about something that happened after her original loss on the hit game show. “My episode had that Talking Heads reunion category and that went pretty viral,” Zoe said. She mentioned that the Talking Heads even posted it on their social media, which helped it go even more viral.

She said her all-time favorite band, Phish, even liked the post. Then Rolling Stone posted something about it. “A24 [Rolling Stone’s parent company] was so gracious to reach out and send me a gift, being a bit Talking Heads fan,” Zoe said. “If we can have another viral moment, maybe resurrect Jerry Garcia or something, I’d really appreciate it.”

However, while Zoe went viral with her first appearance and got noticed by the Talking Heads, her journey ended on Jeopardy! when she fell short in the tournament.

Zoe Loses In Second Chance Jeopardy! Tournament

Zoe Grobman competed in the Second Chance Jeopardy! Tournament against Josh Heit, a government relations professional from Silver Spring, Maryland, and Enzo Cunanan, a student from Orlando, Florida. Zoe finished in second place, with $12,001. Josh was last, with $5,999, while Enzo won big with $19,400.

Sadly, Zoe’s loss was because of a mispronounced word. In the Daily Double, the clue was, “This pale dry sherry gets title billing in a Poe tale.” Zoe answered, “What is amontillado?” Zoe posted on Reddit about the miss.

“I have some strong emotions about a mispronunciation costing me at least $12,000 and two more games of Jeopardy,” she wrote. “That said I have no regrets about going big on that daily double. It was absolutely the right move to make against two buzzsaws and if I’d bet small I wouldn’t have won whether or not I remembered how to say Amontillado. Live by the DD, Die by the DD.”
