The Crocodile Hunter Lodge

Bindi Irwin, 26, Daughter of the late Steve Irwin and mother Terri Irwin. Bindi is a conservationist and has been working on a new project at the crocodile hunter lodge. The lodge was a dream of her late father Steve Irwin. It opened up in 2022, the envision was to create luxury accommodations at Australia Zoo. Last year Bindi’s brother Robert Irwin, gave fans a tour of the lodge, highlighting how the family has incorporated Steve’s legacy into the property. Robert pointed out that several large bottle trees, originally planted by Steve at the zoo, were made from timber. That timber was from a crocodile grandstand that Steve built, and the doors also feature heartwarming family photographs.

Luxury Cabins

Bindi announced the completion of the new luxury cabins at the family’s Australia Zoo on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. These cabins, located within the Crocodile Hunter Lodge, are now available for bookings. Bindi shared a series of photos on social media showcasing the stunning accommodations. They offer spacious rooms, breathtaking nature views, and the luxuries of a five-star hotel. In her post, Bindi expressed her excitement, by writing.

“Our new cabins. @crocodilehunterlodge + my husband = in love. Come stay in our utterly breathtaking two story cabins.”

However, these luxury accommodations come with a hefty price tag. Bookings for the cabins require a minimum three-night stay, with rates starting at $6,397, or approximately $2,100 per night. This has led some fans to express frustration on social media, with many commenting on the expense and lamenting their inability to afford a stay. One follower humorously wrote, “If I ever become loaded, you will find me here.’ While others wished they could afford the experience.

The lodge’s fine dining restaurant, Warrior, is another tribute to Steve Irwin and his granddaughter, Grace Warrior. The restaurant, constructed with rammed earth, honors Steve’s commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation.  The opening of the Crocodile Hunter Lodge is a significant step in fulfilling Steve Irwin’s vision of offering visitors not only the chance to explore the Australia Zoo but also to stay overnight for an immersive experience. Terri Irwin has previously spoken about Steve’s dream of expanding the zoo experience into luxury accommodations, and the lodge now stands as a testament to his lasting legacy.
