‘MAFS’ Fans Livid Over ‘Insufferable’ Ikechi
Based on the latest Married at First Sight scenes from the current return to Chicago season, things between Ikechi and Emem came to a head, resulting in an explosive confrontation in scenes. With everything that went down recently, viewers had even more reason to tear into Ikechi. So, what did viewers have to say?
Married At First Sight Fans Did Not Trust Ikechi From The Start
Nearly every season on Married at First Sight, there is at least one cast member who becomes the designated villain of that season. Some memorable villains from the past include Luke Cuccurullo, Matt Gwynne, Molly Duff, Chris Williams, and more.
When it comes to Married at First Sight Season 18 in Chicago, Ikechi has certainly earned the title of this season’s villain. It did not take him long to get that title, either. Right from the beginning, most viewers pointed out that there seemed to be something shady about him, and the more viewers watch the season, the more this seems to be correct.
MAFS: Ikechi And Emem Got Into It Over Their Vows
In recent Married at First Sight scenes, Emem asked Ikechi if his vows still held true now that they have been married for a while. According to Ikechi, he said that he meant his vows when he said them. He then accused his wife of continuing to poke the bear, adding that when she asks him a question and he answers, the answers are never enough for her.
From there, things went from bad to worse for this Married at First Sight pair. Ikechi ghosted his wife for days. Fans have called Ikechi out for gaslighting in the past, and when he finally showed up to a group dinner with the other husbands and wives, things blew up even more. Once they got home, Ikechi packed his bags and left.
Married At First Sight Fans Blast Ikechi For His Behavior
Fans have had a bone to pick with Ikechi all season long. However, given recent scenes, people had even more reason to slam the Lifetime cast member, and many people did not hold back.
- One commenter said: “How…HOW did he casted?? He is so emotionally unstable and insufferable. I don’t see how any sane woman could date him after watching this show. He pissed me off so much this episode & deserves to be alone. The looks he makes, responses he gives, demeanor, everything about him is “ICK” (his name fits him perfect). Sick of this a-hole.”
- Another commenter added: “Ike changed as soon as he saw Emem’s apartment. As soon as he saw her apartment, he realized that she was head and shoulders above him and his tiny ego couldn’t take it.”

Yes! Totally agreed and I’m begging for the experts to bring this up! How is someone making you feel less than when you are complaining that she is being aggressive in showing how much she desires you? Things changed as soon as he saw her apartment and he is more so self-sabotaging because his ego took a major hit in knowing she is way more established and successful than he is. He will never accept it and will continue to lash out. He is belittling her and so disrespectful. She does not deserve to be put down because of the enthusiasm she had about being married and because she is a successfully strong established woman. He’s not being belittled…he’s already little and even smaller for treating a woman this way.
