‘American Pickers’ Mike Wolfe Buys Country Music Star’s Suit
On a recent episode of American Pickers, Mike Wolfe could be seen making an impressive purchase for the new year. The TV personality purchased famous suits belonging to a country music legend. However, this comes out amid the reality series suffering a ratings drop.
Mike Wolfe Even Got To Try On One Of The Suits
American Pickers is a History Channel series that originally came out in 2010. Host Mike Wolfe and a co-host, originally the late Frank Fritz, travel across the country to find “picks” for resale.
Throughout the series, Wolfe and his team aspire to find long-lost treasures. Thanks to this, a few items with a notable history have appeared on the series.
As noted by The U.S. Sun, an episode airing January 1, 2025, saw Wolfe purchase suits belonging to country music legend Hank Williams Jr., the who is also the son of singer-songwriter Hank Williams. Notably, the suits were designed by famous designer Nudie Cohn and could be worth thousands.
Wolfe could be seen buying a blue and white suit for $7,000 a piece. He even got the chance to try on one of the outfits.
Antique Archaeology notably shared a clip of Wolfe going through the country music star’s collection on Instagram. As the caption noted, “Mike has a once-in-a-lifetime brush with country music stardom as he combs through the dazzling belongings of the legendary Hank Williams Jr.”
In the clip, Wolfe shared, “This is the top of the country music mountain for me. I mean, I’m holding a suit made by Nudie, worn by Hank Jr.” He also noted that he had previously only been able to buy one of his pieces despite being in Nashville for the past 13 years.
American Pickers Has Recently Seen A Notable Drop In Ratings
However, as The U.S. Sun reported, the find wasn’t enough to help ratings. Only around 595,000 viewers watched the episode. This was notably a drop from the previous week’s episode, which had 760,000 viewers.
American Pickers had a brief surge in viewers back in November. The November 13 and November 20 episodes had around 582,000 and 521,000 viewers, respectively. However, the November 27th episode earned around 623,000 viewers.

An episode airing on December 4 earned around 584,000 viewers. A week later, however, saw the December 11 episode earn around 676,000 viewers.
Some of the episodes airing in October had even less viewers. One episode airing ahead of Halloween, October 30, brought in just around 442,000 viewers.
This is all the more notable as there has been a significant drop in viewers from the previous season. At one point, one Season 25 episode airing back in February earned around 966,000 viewers.
