‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Winner, The Vivienne Dead At 32

RuPaul’s Drag Race Winner, The Vivienne, Has Died
It is a very sad day for the RuPaul’s Drag Race community. The new season has just begun but they are now mourning one of their very own. UK Season 1 winner, The Vivienne, has passed away at the tender age of thirty-two. A brief statement was released addressing their passing but not much information was given about what happened.
The Vivienne, born James Lee Williams, died over the weekend though the exact day and cause is unknown. Not only were they a son but they were a beloved brother and an uncle. Furthermore, they were an impeccable and beloved entertainer. The family added that they were incredibly proud of all that James had done but would not release any more information. Privacy was requested at this horrible time in their lives.

Though they referred to them as James, The Vivienne was how they left their mark. They started on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. However, they moved on to All-Stars but had other accomplishments to their name. In 2015, The Vivienne was named the UK Drag Ambassador. Eight years later, they went on to compete in Dancing on Ice as the first drag performer. They ended up making it to third place which is a huge achievement for anyone.
As for the fun drag name, they were given it due to the Vivienne Westwood clothing they often donned. They had been married for four years to David Ludford but divorced in 2023. Sadly, The Vivienne was the victim of a homophobic attack that same year. After news of their passing hit the Internet, fans were devastated and brokenhearted as they were a cultural icon.
