Wheel Of Fortune Has Been A Fan Favorite For A Long Time
Wheel Of Fortune fans have to go all the way back to 1975 to remember when the game show first premiered. The first episode aired on January 6, 1975 on USA. Pat Sajak was the host for decades, but, he did not start out hosting the show. In fact, the original host of the game show was Chuck Woolery from 1975 until 1981.
Sajak eventually took over the hosting duties for Wheel Of Fortune in 1981, and was the host until just recently, when Ryan Seacrest took over. The game show was originally created by Merv Griffin, and it’s one of a handful of game shows that have become part of the fabric of American culture.
Ryan Seacrest Teased Big Things For 50th Anniversary
Ryan Seacrest may be the newcomer to the Wheel Of Fortune universe, but, he will be the one at the helm when the game show celebrates its 50th Anniversary Week. There are still a lot of mixed feelings among viewers regarding Ryan as the new host, but, he has done his best to get acclimated to the show, including all of its history and expectations.
Previously, Seacrest spoke about some of his goals during the upcoming anniversary for the popular game show. The new host said: “I plan to walk out and give away a lot of money to celebrate the 50 years. Hopefully, we give away a million dollars. I want that million-dollar wedge to make it to the end so somebody gets to win that.”

Wheel Of Fortune fans may be wondering what else the popular game show has in store for this big anniversary. So far, there have been a number of things teased. Some of the things mentioned include that it will be a couples’ week. In addition, there will be a $50k home giveaway for a lucky viewer at home.
