Duane Chapman Reveals Beth’s Final Words Before Passing Away
Duane Chapman, better known as “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” lost the love of his life, Beth, in 2019. The reality personality shared what her final moments were like. In a touching moment, he also revealed what her last words were.
Beth Chapman Passed Away in Hawaii In 2019
Chapman first came to international prominence after his capture of Andrew Luster in 2003. The following year saw him get his own A&E series, Dog the Bounty Hunter, which lasted from 2004 to 2012. In 2013, the series received a spin-off in Dog and Beth: On the Hunt.
On both shows, viewers were also introduced to Doug’s spouse and fellow bounty hunter Beth Chapman. Tragically, Beth passed away in 2019 at the age of 51, after being diagnosed with throat cancer two years prior. She was survived by her husband and their children, Cecily Chapman, Bonnie Chapman, Garry Chapman, and Dominic Davis.
In a video shared by Hawaii News Now, Duane opened up about Beth’s passing. According to the caption, Duane shared “that his wife never stopped worrying about the welfare of others ― even on her last days on Earth.”
As noted by Meaww, Duane noted that, “When she had an attack, I didn’t know anything to do but say ‘In Jesus’ name’ and hold her,” Dog shared, breaking his voice. “And when I said ‘In Jesus’ name,’ she said ‘Say it again, say it more.'”
According to Duane, Beth’s final words, which she shared with him and their daughters, also reflected the concern she had for others. As he revealed, they were “I love you” and “Are you guys all okay? Don’t worry.”
In addition, Duane noted, “One of the last things she said [was] ‘It’s a test of my faith.’” He also emphasized how important faith was to him.
“She had faith and that was it. [There are] things you go through when you’re dying, like steps like you do when you lose someone, right? You get mad at them, and then you go through all these steps.”
Duane Also Shared How Beth Shared Her Love After The Inevitable
In her final days, Beth was admitted to Queen’s Medical Center in Hawaii. She died from complications from her illness after she had been placed in a medically induced coma.
At the time, Duane acknowledged that the inevitable was expected. However, he still felt it happened “really fast.” Duane noted, “It’s terrible, the most terrible time in someone’s life.” He continued, “You kind of try to remember that you’re celebrating life, but right now we’re mourning the death, so it’s not good.”

The bounty hunter also noted that Beth wanted to fight her cancer in her own way. He also revealed that she left him notes for him to read after her passing.
As Duane joked, “Beth was somewhat of a control person — not from the grave but from heaven. I’m sure she’s still controlling me and I’ve got notes in my pillowcases, on my sink, in my shaving thing. She’s still telling me what to wear.”
“She did it her way. There’s some things that they predicted that the doctors ended up saying, ‘We’ve never, ever, seen anything like this.’”
