‘American Pickers’ Mike Wolfe Talks 2024’s Heartache & Loss

Mike Wolfe | YouTube

American Pickers host Mike Wolfe used the start of the new year to look back at the past year. This was a rough thing to do because Mike had a lot of “loss” and “heartbreak” as the year rolled on. However, on top of the obvious loss, he also said there were “beautiful moments” as well.

Here is what Mike said about 2024 and what he looks forward to in 2025.

Mike Wolfe Looks Back At Loss From 2024

Mike Wolfe is best known to fans as the host of American Pickers. For most of the show’s existence, he hosted it with his childhood friend Frank Fritz. However, the show fired Frank a few seasons back, and then things went downhill for Mike and Frank. Sadly, Frank died this past September.

Mike and Frank had a huge falling out. However, after Frank had a stroke that left him unable to do anything, they reportedly made up, and Mike was there with Frank when he died. It was a hard moment for the American Pickers star and he clearly had a moment of loss and heartbreak there.

In an Instagram post, Mike welcomed the new year of 2025 by looking back at 2024 and seeing how it was not only filled with loss and heartbreak but also some beautiful moments. He hoped for a nice 2025 and said he is “happy, content and excited about the future.”

“This past year has brought loss and some heart ache but it also has beautiful moments with my daughter and family,” Mike wrote. He mentioned the projects that he threw himself into and said they inspire him to do more.

Mike Wolfe Moving Away From American Pickers?

Mike Wolfe has signed a deal with American Pickers for more seasons. However, the ratings are tanking horribly and it is unclear how much longer The HISTORY Channel will keep the show on the air.

While Mike is still filming episodes and putting time into it, he is also doing a lot more away from the show. Mike, 60, has been working hard to buy and fix up various businesses in his new hometown of Columbia, Tennessee. He has put thousands of dollars into the town and is working hard to bring in business and help it grow.

He also seems grateful that his inner circle is shrinking (although it is doubtful he is saying he is grateful that Frank died). “I love that my circle is getting much smaller so I can be present more with the ones I love,” Mike wrote. He then finished by asking his fans to find “common ground” in 2025.
