Could Kody Brown’s Repentance Save Show?

On Reddit, Sister Wives fans open a discussion about Kody Brown manipulating the storyline. Initially, a user points out, “Kody’s redemption arc.” Then, they explain they think the trajectory in Kody’s storyline is to be the “hero.”

The user says, “Given that reality television isn’t always committed to reality, I think Kody is manipulating a storyline. He’s so egotistical that he can’t love being a villain. ‘Christine left a good man’ donchaknow. So I think he’s setting himself up and he’s using Robyn and the daughters.”

Instead of the villain, Kody would go through repentance to become a savior. The user adds, “My theory is that he’s going to claim he’s gotten right with God and that he’s seen the light and he’s embracing monogamy, knowing that he’s got enough kids/grandkids to keep the story moving for that sweet reality paycheck. Like the Duggars did without the felonies to stop them from continuing on. ::shudder::.”

Additionally, the Redditor theorizes, “He’ll claim he’s a changed man, and that forgiveness means you can’t hold any of his past actions against him. He will demand a clean slate. And with his ego, he really thinks he can just script and act his way through the future episodes as the awesome dad and husband that he delulu thinks he’s always been.”

Other Fans Add Their Thoughts

After the initial post, several other Sister Wives weighed in on Kody Brown getting a redemption arc. Since many fans have watched for years, it would be difficult to forgive and forget even if Kody learns from the fallout.

  • “He will never be redeemable to me. NEVER. After what he did to his children. I will never like him. He went too far to come back. He is delusional enough to think he can be.”
  • “The sad thing about being sorry for your actions and even changing your behavior is that oftentimes the damage is already done and nothing can fix it. Kody and Robyn have already done a lot of damage so being ‘sorry’ won’t help.”
  • Then, the original poster adds, “The thing about ‘redemption’ is that it would require repentance- saying you were wrong and saying you’re sorry. Kody will never actually think he was wrong nor will he ever be sorry.”
