Hoda Kotb’s final episode on The Today Show as a co-host is ending very soon. Her last day is January 10 and then the show will change forever. However, there are conflicting ideas about what is next for Hoda after this episode. Some say she will be a stay-at-home mom. Others say she is still part of the NBC family and will have a new role.

Now, Hoda has given some hints at what might be next for her when her time as a host comes to an end.

What Is Next For Hoda Kotb After Today?

Hoda Kotb plans to start a new chapter in her life when she steps down as The Today Show host after the January 10 episode. The show will promote Craig Melvin to her spot and Jenna Bush Hager will take on rotating co-hosts in her segment. But what is next for Hoda?

Hoda has said that she is 60 now and she wants to think about what that decade of her life will look like. “I realized that it was time for me to turn the page at 60 and to try something new,” she said when announcing her departure from The Today Show. She said she had her kids late in life. She admitted they deserve a bigger part of her life and she will be there for them.

“I feel like we only have a finite amount of time. And so, with all that being said, this is the hardest thing in the world,” she admitted.

While Hoda wants to spend more time with her kids, she did say that she will remain part of NBC and will still be under contract to the network. There is no way this is the end of her television role. Since she said that she will still be with NBC, there is a chance she could have her own TV show, possibly a weekly one that will free her up more than the daily appearances on Today.

There is also a chance she could move into a role like Barbara Walters used to have, where she has special interviews with major stars. This would be primetime and likely not weekly.

How Will The Today Show Say Goodbye To Hoda Kotb?

Hoda Kotb’s exit on The Today Show will be a huge affair. On January 10, her final episode, NBC will air the “Hoda-bration.” As the title suggests, this is a celebration of Hoda and what she means to the morning talk show.

Expect plenty of guests to join Hoda on this final episode and there to be plenty of crying involved.

Once Hoda leaves, she also said she plans to do other things outside of the television news role she has had for decades. She said she wants to do something in the world of wellness.
