During the spring of 2024, HGTV announced the start of a new series, The Flip Off.

It was initially advertised as a competition show between two couples: Tarek and Heather El Moussa and Josh and Christina Hall. Right away, fans felt excited about the upcoming show, which seemed like it would feature many popular elements of its predecessor, Flip or Flop. Tarek and Christina are no longer married to each other, but they still enjoy tackling renovation projects together.

However, there have been a few hiccups in productions and changes ahead of the premiere date. Read on to learn more about The Flip Off and see when to tune in.

The Flip Off Will Premiere As Planned — But With A Few Changes

Flip or Flop ended in 2022, but it remained popular with fans nevertheless. Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack also stayed involved in each other’s lives to co-parent their two children, Taylor and Brayden.

In The Flip Off, fans will get to see them go head to head. But in what capacity?

As fans know, Josh and Christina Hall filed for divorce over the summer — after production already begun. In the following months, the pair slammed each other in the press while Christina posted personal jabs at her ex-husband on social media. Afterward, it became crystal clear that Josh Hall would no longer be part of The Flip Off.

The competition show between the two couples couldn’t continue. So what happened next?

Tarek El Moussa Bolstered Christina Haack Amid The Chaos

In a preview for The Flip Off, Tarek El Moussa paid his ex-wife Christina Haack a visit. He comforted her as she broke down in tears, revealing that her marriage with Josh Hall officially ended.

Although Christina’s divorce was emotionally devastating, she was determined to continue with the project anyway. She will compete as a solo woman against the El Moussas.

As per PEOPLE, “Over the course of six episodes, the teams will renovate their chosen properties and be subjected to the opinions of guest judges. The winner of each weekly renovation challenge will receive $2,000 from the losing team, which will be used for the following week’s project.”

The publication goes on to say the winning team receives a luxury vacation — paid by the losing team. Naturally, Tarek and Christina won’t want to see the other team win. They have a friendly relationship as exes, but their competitive natures will surely take over.

Tune into HGTV at 8 PM Eastern time on Wednesday, January 29 to catch The Flip Off. Will you be watching? Share your own thoughts and ideas in the comments below.
