‘Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond Gushes Over Life As A Grandma
Christmas came early for Ree Drummond’s family.
The celebrity chef was expecting her first granddaughter shortly after the new year. However, the baby girl had other plans. Ree’s daughter Alex Scott gave birth to baby Sofia on December 18, 2024.
Already, the Pioneer Woman star is in love with her family’s latest addition. On her blog, she shared updates with fans and gushed over life as a grandmother.

Ree Drummond Shares New Baby Updates With Her Fans
The Pioneer Woman star Ree Drummond has quite a bit to be thankful for in her successful career. But at the end of the day, she’s immensely grateful for her family. And being a grandmother to her daughter Alex’s new baby is the greatest reward of all.
“My sweet little pookie head granddaughter Sofia was born ten days ago, so I thought it would be the perfect time to show you some of my favorite snapshots of the first week-and-a-half of her life,” Ree shared on her blog on December 28.
The Food Network star added that she got to stay in Dallas for a little while and bond with her granddaughter. Ree also admitted she checked Zillow for houses near her daughter’s home so she could come visit whenever she pleased.
“It’s sort of like when I return from a vacation in Vail, Colorado and I start searching for houses to buy in Vail because I just don’t want that vacation feeling to end,” she continued. “Well, in this case, it’s even more profound: I don’t want my time with Sofia ever to end, and though neither ‘second home’ scenario is very likely at all, a girl (and a grandmother) can sure dream.”

“What a wonderful ten days it’s been! As you can imagine, there are dozens (hundreds?) of photos and videos of Sofia so far, but I wanted to share a few of my favorites with you today. And don’t worry! There will be hundreds more by this afternoon. Ha,” the Pioneer Woman star concluded.
The Chef Loves Exploring Life As A New Grandmother
On the blog post, Ree shared several exciting photos of family members holding Sofia. Although it’s been quite some time since she had small children of her own, the celebrity chef admitted her muscle memory kicked in.
“One thing I saw right away is that once you’ve had/held/raised babies, you never forget a thing,” she shared with readers. “It’s been a while since I’ve consistently held a baby; after all, I’ve been dealing with very tall teenagers and young adults for the past several years. But these hands and arms didn’t miss a lick. While the uncles and sisters and grandfathers were gingerly passing Sofia to one another, I’d grab her with all the confidence of a grandmother lioness, knowing exactly what to do. Rawr!!! (Okay, enough of the parallels to the animal kingdom.)”
