Doug had a difficult childhood, which led to his stress eating. The My 600-Lb Life star claimed that he was s*xually abused as a child. His parents also abandoned him, and he eventually got addicted to food and drugs. Fortunately, he found the courage to turn his life around.
Doug lost enough weight to qualify for bariatric surgery. He was able to drop 222 pounds just by following Dr. Now’s diet and exercise programs. He ended his episode at 462 pounds, and he’s doing much better today.
Doug Armstrong Shocking 2024 Transformation
Doug Armstrong recently took to Facebook to share a video of himself talking to his followers. But what’s noticeable is his huge weight loss. He didn’t share how much he scaled down during the live, but it seems he dropped more than half of his weight since parting ways with Dr. Now.
The My 600-Lb Life star has also been using Facebook to motivate others who are going through the same weight loss journey. His FB bio states, “We hope this page becomes a place of encouragement and support for others who are struggling with obesity, addiction, or anything life brings!”

Doug Armstrong also took to FB in August 2023 to reveal he was 385 pounds, saying that he has completely let go of his past self, adding, “I honestly don’t even know that guy anymore, and I’m ok with that. There are so many I can attribute my success to but first and foremost it’s God, and then Ashley and my family.”
But considering it’s been over a year since his last reported weight, many fans believe he’s now under that today. The My 600-Lb Life star also shared that he had a second skin removal surgery last year. Doug has also been hustling on social media by making podcast videos focusing on dealing with obesity.
