Jay-Z Lawsuit Causing Unintended Attention For Daughter Blue Ivy
Jay-Z has been struggling with the recent lawsuit filed against him. A victim of an alleged sexual assault claims that he and Sean “Diddy” Combs both assaulted her when she was a teenager. While the rapper denies the allegations, a judge ruled that the case would move forward, and now, it seems to be affecting Jay-Z’s young daughter.
Here is what this lawsuit has caused to happen to Blue Ivy’s young acting career.
Jay-Z Daughter Getting Backlash From Current Lawsuit
Jay-Z just lost an argument in the pre-trial case surrounding the alleged sexual assault. A judge reprimanded his attorney for attacks made against attorney Tony Buzbee, who has collected dozens of accusers to represent in various cases against several celebrities. The judge also ruled that the accuser could remain anonymous.
The lawsuits come as Sean “Diddy” Combs’s criminal trial draws closer. However, this was the only case that involved Jay-Z. The accuser claims that the rapper and Combs sexually assaulted her when she was 13 years old. She claims the incident happened at a VMA’s after-party in 2000. She also said that an unnamed female watched the assault happen.
The lawsuit also happened around the same time his and Beyonce’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, started her acting career. Blue Ivy was on the red carpet for the Disney movie Mufasa just one day after the rape claims emerged. He and Beyonce were on the red carpet with their daughter and tried to remain positive amidst the new accusations.
However, Jay-Z has not appeared at subsequent events surrounding Blue Ivy and the movie’s release. Blue Ivy voices the role of Princess Kiara, King Simba’s daughter in the Lion King prequel. Beyonce is also in the movie, voicing Queen Nala.
What This Means For Blue Ivy Carter’s Career
As mentioned, Jay-Z is not attending any more of the premiere events. He likely does not want to be a distraction. Blue Ivy is only 12 years old.
Blue Ivy also showed up unexpectedly during Beyonce’s Christmas Day NFL show in Houston. The young girl dressed like her mother and danced while Beyonce sang “Texas Hold ‘Em.”
As for Jay-Z, he released a public statement about how these accusations have affected him, his family, and his young children. “My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at an age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims,” Jay-Z said. He still denies all charges and said that his “only heartbreak is for my family.”
Jay-Z says the allegations started as “blackmail,” and he has filed a lawsuit against Tony Buzbee. The accuser said she spoke to a specific celebrity at the party, only to learn that that celebrity was not there. Her own father also said he doesn’t remember picking her up, as she claimed he did (via The U.S. Sun).
