This has been a tough season for Parker Schnabel on Gold Rush. Parker has a new claim that he is mining at Dominion Creek. However, he has had several problems along the way and is losing a lot of money, thanks to the difficulties. With that said, he has just pumped even more money into the site, hoping to turn things around.

Here is a look at what Parker is doing as he struggles with Dominion Creek.

Parker Schnabel Pumps More Money Into Gold Rush Site

Parker Schnabel made some costly decisions this season on Gold Rush. This season’s failures were mostly caused by bad luck with the Long Cut plant. Parker had to rent a sonic drill to test the depths, and it turned out that they needed to push harder to reach the goal he had set for the team.

Parker has a $15 million investment and wants to find 10,000 ounces of gold this season. He is very far behind on his goal, making it look like he might need to cut some losses or fall even further into the negative. However, he has done the opposite. Instead, he is pumping more money into the site to hit his goals.

In the December 27 Gold Rush special episode “Expansion Mode,” Parker decided to spend money to “enhance” the Dominion Creek site. He purchased new equipment and explored new mining locations there. This includes new water pumps for which he paid $540,000. They will produce 76 gallons of water per minute.

While this is meant to address bottlenecks and improve efficiency, it is also a lot of money to spend in a season where goals are not being reached.

Parker Schnabel Looking For New Sites On Gold Rush

At the same time, Parker Schnabel is looking for new places to mine, hoping to hedge his bets. If Dominion Creek continues to struggle, he might be ready to pack up and move on if he finds a new site that could be more lucrative for him.

The special episode showed Parker looking for untapped gold deposits. He wants to find these new places so he can claim them and continue to establish his name as the best of the best in the Yukon Territory. Even with his recent struggles, Parker is successful because he won’t stop looking for new opportunities.

It also seems that Parker is becoming more of a manager. Gold Rush has shown him taking on more of a role in the office, managing operations rather than working in the field.
