‘Let’s Make a Deal’ Wayne Brady Falls Asleep On The Job
Wayne Brady loves to have fun on Let’s Make a Deal, possibly more than any host on any other game show. He interacts with contestants on a personal and fun level. He cracks jokes and makes the show as fun as possible. However, the cameras drifted over on a recent episode and caught him napping.
Here is what happened with the situation on the show.
Wayne Brady Naps On Let’s Make A Deal
On a recent Let’s Make a Deal episode, Wayne Brady had several contestants on stage trying to win prizes. One of these players was Shawna, who said she was a “certified master hypnotherapist” who helps people “get over their issues.”
Shawna was then on stage with another contestant named Robert. They were competing for $10,000, according to announcer Jonathan Mangum. There was one problem. The camera then switched over to Wayne, and he was slumped over, seemingly asleep.
“Did Wayne go into a deep sleep?” Tiffany Coyne asked. Executive producer Chris Ahearn raced to where Wayne was and took the microphone. He then took over the hosting duties for the game. He said the players needed to spell the word “WINNER” from eight numbered cards without drawing a Zonk.
Chris then took out two envelopes from Wayne’s jacket pocket. Robert and Shawna had to pick the envelope with $100 to go first in the game. When a player got the $50 envelope, Wayne would “snap out of his hypnosis.” Shawna got the $100, Robert got the $50, and Wayne woke up.
Shawna Failed To Win The Big Money
While the entire gag played into Shawna’s announcement that she was a hypnotherapist, she could not turn that into a big money win. She got the $100 and could go first, but she pulled a Zonk with her very first pick of a card, and her game was over.

Robert chose an “R” and needed five more correct picks. Robert got a second letter, and Wayne offered him $1,200 to walk away. They risked it and then drew a Zonk, and their game was over without winning big money.
While Robert and Shawna didn’t win the $10,000, they had a nice experience with Wayne Brady, who played out the hypnosis and made the game fun. It was yet another moment when Wayne proved that he would ensure the players had a good time, even if they did go home empty-handed.
