Judge Slams ‘Relentless’ Jay-Z, Grants Rape Accuser Anonymity

Rapper Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter has been facing legal drama after he was named in a refiled lawsuit alleging that he and mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs raped an underage victim. Recently, Jay-Z was accused of a courtroom plot to have the alleged victim named. Since then, however, a judge has made a recent ruling against the rapper.
Both Jay-Z & Diddy Have Denied The Allegations Against Them
Earlier this month, Jay-Z was named in a lawsuit claiming that he and mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs had raped an underage victim at a 2000 VMAs afterparty. Jay-Z wasn’t named when the suit was originally filed, but was named after a later refiling.
The suit also claimed that an unidentified female celebrity, referred to as “Celebrity B,” watched the incident. For their part, both Carter and Combs have denied these allegations.

As noted by The U.S. Sun, Carter has also since attempted to “quash the case” or have the accuser publicly identified. This past Thursday, however, a judge offered a recent ruling in favor of the alleged victim.
Judge Analisa Torres recently granted Carter and Combs’ accuser anonymity over the next stage of proceedings. Notably, Torres’ rulings were explained in five-page filing.
As the filing reads, Torres criticized Jay-Z’s attorney Alex Spiro over “relentless filing of combative motions.” The judge also described these filings as having “inflammatory language and ad hominem attacks” and being a “waste of judicial resources.” Torres added, “The Court will not fast-track the judicial process merely because counsel demands it.”
Jay-Z’s Attorney Also Released An Earlier Statement
Spiro had previously attempted to dismiss the lawsuits against Jay-Z. As she shared with The U.S. Sun, “It is stunning that a lawyer would not only file such a serious complaint without proper vetting, but would make things worse by further peddling this false story in the press.”
The statement continued, “We are asking the Court to dismiss this frivolous case today, and will take up the matter of additional discipline for Mr. Buzbee and all the lawyers that filed the complaint.” As the publication noted, Buzbee refers to the alleged victim’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee.

As the publication noted, the unnamed accuser, identified as Jane Doe, previously admitted to inconsistencies in the lawsuit. At the time, she claimed that mistakes were made when recounting the alleged incident.
As detailed by NBC News, this includes photos showing Carter and Combs at a different location than one Doe described. She also claimed to have talked to a celebrity who denied being in New York at the time.
Doe was quoted as saying, “Honestly, what is the clearest is what happened to me and [the] route that I took to what happened to me. Not all of the faces there are as clear.” She continued, “So I have made some mistakes. I may have made a mistake in identifying.”
