‘DWTS’ Rylee Arnold Dishes On Meeting Boyfriend Walker Lyons
Dancing With The Stars pro Rylee Arnold is in a relationship with USC football player Walker Lyons. Although their romance is still fairly new, the dancer feels that it was fate that they met.
During an appearance on The Squeeze, Rylee opened up about the wild events that led up to their first meeting. Read on to see what she had to say.
Rylee Arnold Met An Uber Driver Who Wanted To Set Her Up
Just before the start of DWTS Season 33, Rylee Arnold admitted she was struggling with loneliness. She missed many of her friends and family back in Utah. And on top of that, she felt stressed and fed up with Los Angeles traffic.
“I remember I had to go get an outfit for, I think it was for Good Morning America,” the dancer remembered. “And I was just like, I don’t want a freaking drive right now and try to find parking at a random Mall. And it’s Saturday. Like, I’m just not going to do that.”
After chatting with her mother, Mindy, on the phone, Rylee decided to take an Uber instead.
“I get in this Uber. It’s this really nice lady,” she continued. “And we’re just like, talking about dance, and she’s talking about what she does. And also she was like, ‘Okay, this might sound really weird. Don’t take this the wrong way.'”
The Uber driver said her nephew played football at USC and felt that he and Rylee would get along well. She told him to look Walker Lyons up on Instagram and reach out if she wanted to give it a shot.
But shortly after, Dancing With The Stars season started and Rylee transitioned into work mode. She didn’t feel that she had time for dating and forgot about Walker.
The Dancer Took A Chance After Another Random Coincidence
Shortly after, one of Rylee’s older sisters sent a TikTok of Walker Lyons in their family group chat and suggested he might be a good match for the 19-year-old.
“I was like, ‘You guys are gonna die right now. Like, I literally was in his aunt’s Uber a week ago,’ and they’re like, ‘Riley, like, follow him. Now, follow him now,'” Rylee remembered. “And then come to know that my brother-in-law is actually friends with his best friend’s dad, and so there’s a connection there.”

“We have a crazy amount of mutuals so the fact we hadn’t met before is kind of crazy, but I think we met at the most perfect time in both of our lives,” the young dancer continued. “But anyways, I followed him first on Instagram, so then he followed me back, and he messaged me, and then got my number, and we text for a while, and then he was like, ‘Can I take you on a date?’ And I was like, ‘Of course you can.’ That’s where it all started.”
