On 1000-Lb Sisters this season, Amanda Halterman shocked her siblings when she announced she met a man online and wanted to move to Florida to be with him. Most of her siblings objected, especially her brother Chris Combs.

In May, Amanda posted a TikTok revealing that RJ ghosted her, which certainly complicated her cross-country move. Afterward, fans felt confused about her living situation. Did she return to Kentucky or stay in Florida?

In a new live stream, the TLC star shed some light on her living situation. Read on to get the scoop.

“I’m definitely in a good place. I’m no longer in Florida,” the TLC star explained on her livestream. “I’ve been back up here in Kentucky since May. RJ and I did not work out but him and I are still friends. I wish him well and he wishes me well. But I am in a very happy relationship, a healthy relationship, and I’m definitely thankful to be where I’m at.”

Although she’s living in her home state, she doesn’t plan to be there for the long term.

“Well you know what, I didn’t want to come back to Kentucky. But life happened,” Amanda continued. “One thing that I did say is I’m gonna live my life unapologetically. Okay, meaning I’m gonna go out here and mind my damn business. And I expect everybody to mind theirs. And I expect them to act accordingly.”

The 1000-Lb Sisters Star Doesn’t Have Any Regrets

Onscreen, Amanda’s siblings begged her to stay in Kentucky. Although Florida didn’t work out, Amanda feels glad she went. She doesn’t view her failed relationship and cross-country move as a mistake.

“… So what if I go out and make a decision that’s a mistake? If I go out and make a mistake, I’m not asking you to come in and pick up the pieces,” the TLC star clarified. “All I’m asking you to do is be supportive. That’s it. So did I want to come back to Kentucky? Hell no. Am I gonna be there long term? Hell no. I’m just passing through. But, I definitely understand my assignment and know I’m only there for a short period of time.”

At the end of the day, the TLC star believes she had an excellent learning opportunity that forced her to step outside her comfort zone. Amanda fell in love with the Florida lifestyle and proximity to the beach, which was partially why she felt reluctant to return to Kentucky.
