‘Y&R’ Lauralee Bell & Michael Damian Dish On Dramatic Return
As the year is about to come to an end on The Young and the Restless, two actors are set to return to the show for the holidays. These are Lauralee Bell and Michael Damian, who play Cricked and Danny, respectively. In fact, the two actors recently talked about their upcoming appearances.
Danny & Cricket Will Appear On The Soap Before & After The New Year
Bell is the daughter of soap opera creators William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell. She first played Christine “Cricket” Blair in 1983, having appeared as the character off and on throughout the years.
For his part, Damian first appeared as the character of singer Danny Romalotti in 1981. The character has been a love-interest to Cricket, with the two even being married at one point.
According to Soap Opera Digest, Bell and Damian are set to return to The Young and the Restless in time for the holidays. The two will appear in episodes set to air on December 30 and January 2.
Bell and Damian also spoke with the publication about their characters’ return. In particular, Bell was asked if Danny and Cricket would celebrate the holidays together.
The actress shared that, “It took so long for Cricket and Danny to reconnect with each other and fall in love again. They wouldn’t choose to be apart after they finally just reunited.”
Bell noted, “I was happy that Josh [Griffith] wanted Cricket there to help Daniel. She noted, “But I’m also happy that as soon as her legal skills were no longer needed, she quickly jetted back to be with her man.”

The two were also asked what it was like filming a fictional holiday season before the real one starts. Noting filming took place in November, Bell mused that, “It’s always fun to experience the fictional holiday before the actual one in real life.” Damian also joked that, “It always gets us in the mood early for the holidays and the best part is that you get to celebrate it twice.”
The actors also shared some details about the set-up of the characters’ return. As Bell noted, “Cricket leaves Danny’s tour a few days early to spend time with Nina in Los Angeles. Due to a series of obstacles, Cricket and Danny spending time together during the holidays is suddenly at risk.”

Bell commented that, “They both try their hardest to make it back to Genoa City in time to ring in the new year together.” Damian also noted, they get split up for a bit and hope to reunite in time for a New Year’s Eve stroke-of-midnight kiss.” He also promised viewers “will have a blast!”
The two actors also appeared together on CBS News Los Angeles together to promote the episodes. During the appearance, Damian teased they’d serve as “comic relief” and help release some tension on the soap.
Ultimately, both actors promised fans would get “surprises” and “smiles.” In other words, fans can expect some levity no matter what the soap has in store.
