‘1000-Lb Best Friends’ Fans Puzzled, Did Season 3 Just End?
Did 1000-Lb Best Friends Season 3 just end?
The season premiere kicked off on October 22. If the December 17 episode was indeed the finale, that means Season 3 aired on TLC for just under two months. Many fans agree that seems incredibly short for an entire season.
So did 1000-Lb Best Friends just wrap up for the year? Or will there be new episodes soon?
Read on to find out what’s going on with the TLC series.
1000-Lb Best Friends Viewers Wish For More Episodes
This season of 1000-Lb Best Friends was certainly full of drama. Vannessa Cross and Meghan Crumpler continuously butted heads throughout the season but ended Tuesday’s episode on a high note. Meghan finally congratulated Vannessa for her weight loss, prompting the latter to admit she only wanted Meghan’s validation all along.
During the episode, Dr. Procter threw a formal luncheon for his bariatric support group, recognizing his patients for their hard work and accomplishments throughout the year.
So was it truly the end for Season 3?
“Was episode 8 the season finale?” one Redditor asked on the platform. “With the awards and everything it felt very ‘tied up.’ I don’t recall there being any ‘next week’ type trailer, so was that it???”
TLC previously confirmed that Tuesday night’s episode was the Season 3 finale and other Reddit users said as much. However, many agreed that Season 3 felt incredibly short. Comments included:
- “It felt like a really short season this time around.”
- “It was the season finale for 1000-Lb Best Friends & 1000-Lb Sisters“
- “Season finale and not ‘series finale’ makes me hopeful there will be more, but sad as the season flew by.”
- “My 600-Lb Life starts a new season in January.”
What’s Next For The Cast?
During 1000-Lb Best Friends Season 3, fans saw the cast members undergo dramatic changes. Both new cast members, Scott and Tina, qualified for and received bariatric surgery. Scott Bagwill’s sky-high heart rate nearly caused Dr. Procter to postpone the surgery, but everything turned out fine in the end.
Meanwhile, Vannessa Cross received skin removal surgery and is still focused on health and wellness, even though she’s well under 200 lbs now.

Meghan Crumpler also lost a significant amount of weight on her own, convincing Dr. Procter to grant her a revision surgery.
