‘1000-Lb Best Friends’ Scott Bagwill Has Cardiac Complications, Is He OK?
Last week on 1000-Lb Best Friends, Scott Bagwill excitedly told his friends that Dr. Procter approved him for bariatric surgery. But will his dreams of weight loss surgery come true?
In a new teaser for the Season 3 finale, fans quickly realize that Scott’s heart rate poses serious risks. Read on to get the scoop.
1000-Lb Best Friends Star Scott Experiences Heart Complications
In a teaser for Tuesday’s new episode, Scott’s nerves start getting the better of him. Naturally, this is going to cause problems for his procedure.
“Scott’s surgery is called into question when his heart rate spikes, prompting Dr. Procter to consider canceling altogether! Don’t miss the season finale of #1000lbBestFriends, Tuesday at 10/9c,” the official TLC Instagram account shared online.
“As Scott is being prepped for surgery, his heart rate rises to dangerous levels,” text at the beginning of the clip reads.
“Heart rate got a little quick up there. It’s a little quick up there now.” Dr. Procter tells Scott, who is on the verge of panicking. Meanwhile, his mother encourages him to take calming breaths.
In a confessional, Dr. Procter explains that Scott’s stress and nerves have caused his heart rate to shoot up dangerously high. They plan to have Scott have an EKG while they get in touch with his cardiologist to ensure he’s cleared for surgery.
Sadly, the bariatric surgeon admits that they will have to cancel his surgery if they can’t get Scott’s heart rate under control because of the risks it poses.
“I’m starting to wonder, ‘Is this just nerves? Or is there something else that could majorly effect if Dr. Procter continues with the surgery or not?'” Scott shares in a confessional.
