‘Today’ Savannah Guthrie Gives First Look At New Family Member
Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie recently shared an update with fans. She will be welcoming a new member into her family, right ahead of the holidays. During the post, Guthrie also paid tribute to a famous movie marking its recent anniversary.
Savannah Guthrie Sent Out A Christmas Card For Her Fans
Guthrie has served as part of the NBC News morning show Today, since 2012. She first started working as an NBC News correspondent in 2007.
Over the years, Guthrie has worn many hats throughout her career. Notably, she served as a guest host of Jeopardy! in 2021, following the death of Alex Trebek.
However, as noted by E! Online, the Today co-host recently shared big news with her fans on social media. Taking to Instagram, she shared a series of photos leading up to the big news.
Back in 2014, Guthrie married political cand communications consultant Michael Feldman. Together, the two have two children together, Vale and Charley.
On the Instagram post, Guthrie wrote, “Merry Christmas and happiest holidays! Oh, and we have a new family member.” The post then allowed fans to “open” up a family Christmas card.
The Today co-host then shared that her family had adopted a new puppy. As seen, the new addition is named Fetch Guthrie Feldman.
As Guthrie wrote in the card, “Mike, Savannah, Vale and Charley are delighted to announce that this year, we made Fetch happen. Merriest everything to all and blessings for 2025!”
Even Savannah & Michael’s Shirts Paid Tribute To A Famous 2004 Movie
Guthrie’s comments poke fun at a famous scene from the 2004 movie Mean Girls. Lacey Chabert’s character Gretchen Wieners tries to make the slang term, “Fetch,” catch on.
At one point, Gretchen comments, “That is so fetch!” In turn, the character Regina George bluntly tells her, “Gretchen, stop trying to make fetch happen! It’s not going to happen!”

Notably, the scene also takes place around the time the characters are participating in a Christmas showcase, also tying the reference into the holiday theme. Guthrie also added the hashtags, “#Fetch” and “#makingFetchhappen.”
The Mean Girls tribute is actually quite timely. Back in April, the film had celebrated its 20th anniversary. Over the years, the film also inspired a stage musical, which also got its own film adaptation earlier this year.
Taking to the comments, many fans helped welcome Guthrie’s new addition to the family. As one fan wrote, “This is the cutest! Finally, someone made Fetch happen.” Another noted, “Gretchen would be so proud. Welcome Fetch.”
One eagle-eyed fan also took note of the T-shirts the family was wearing. As one fan noted, “The ‘I made’ and ‘I let’ shirts.” As seen in the card, Savannah wore an “I made fetch happen” shirt while Michael wore an “I let fetch happen” shirt.
Illustrator Morgan Kendall also notably thanked the family for using a card she designed. As she wrote, “Thank you so much for choosing my card! Love the name!!”
