Yellowstone: Series Finale Coming After Years Of Character Building
After many years and countless hours of investment from both the cast and crew, as well as millions of viewers, Yellowstone is about to conclude with its series finale. There may be a lot of spinoffs nowadays, and Taylor Sheridan has certainly expanded his Dutton family universe. However, the show that started it all will soon ride off into the sunset for good.
Many Yellowstone fans are torn heading into the series finale. As much as they have been watching this show and speculating on how it would ultimately conclude, thinking about it and having it finally arrive are two completely different things. So, for many fans, this is a bittersweet situation.
Kevin Costner Exit Led To Unsatisfying John Dutton Death
With the way that Yellowstone handled the death of beloved character John Dutton, heading into the series finale, many viewers still have a rotten taste in their mouths over it. Of course, this was all set in motion when contract negotiations and other things surrounding Kevin Costner halted production.
The legendary actor also wanted to pursue making his own Western saga called Horizon. This ultimately led to Costner exiting the show, and it was a domino effect that concluded with what many Yellowstone fans say was an unsatisfying end for a character who carried the entire franchise.
Yellowstone: Luke Grimes Throws Shade At Hollywood Legend
With the Yellowstone series finale soon to air, actor Luke Grimes recently dished on what it was like to film the final season of the show without Kevin Costner around. It turns out, he had some spicy things to say about Costner not being there to film that final chapter.
According to the actor, “it was time” for Costner to ride off into the sunset in a different direction. Grimes even said that filming the final season of Yellowstone without Costner around was easier.
Grimes went on to say: “To be really honest, there was a part of Kevin being gone that meant some of the conflict was gone. Obviously, it didn’t make it super fun to be around. Not pointing any fingers, but it was actually the easiest season we’ve filmed.”
Catch the series finale of Yellowstone when it airs on Sunday, December 15, at 8 pm, on the Paramount Network.
