‘The Voice’ Fans Blast Finale’s ‘Monotone’ Performances
The Voice finale brings the best of the season together to sing one last time for a chance to win it all. However, this year’s finale didn’t quite go as well as many viewers had hoped. This caused many fans to claim the performances were “underwhelming” and “monotone.”
Here is what fans had to say about The Voice finale and the final performances.
The Voice Fans Unhappy With Finale Performances
The first part of The Voice finale aired with some new performances by the finalists. However, while this is usually a time to celebrate the best of the season, fans were disappointed with the entire affair this year. Many fans said the performances “sucked,” while others said they were just “underwhelmed.”
In the first part of the finale, Sydney Sterlace sang “I Love You, I’m Sorry” by Gracie Abrams and “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol. Danny Joseph performed “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma” by Luke Combs and “Back to Black” by Amy Winehouse. Jeremy Beloate followed up with “What the World Needs Now” by Jackie DeShannon and “Dancing on My Own” by Robyn.
Sofronio Vasquez sang “Unstoppable” by Sia and “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman soundtrack. Finally, Shye sang “One of Us” by Joan Osborne and “Falling” by Harry Styles.
Fans at home were not amused. Many blasted the sound of the singers, and others hated the song choices. Here is what many of the fans had to say (via The U.S. Sun):
- “Just my opinion, but I’m really underwhelmed with the singers that are left as well as the song choices for the finale.”
- “The lineup itself is great, it’s just that none of them performed up to their usual standard except Shye and Sofronio.”
- “Everyone sounds so weak tonight. Honestly, Shye ruined that song. Her voice was so monotone and weak. This season’s final sucks so far.”
