‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Why Amanda Halterman Stopped Losing Weight
Over the past few seasons of 1000-Lb Sisters, fans have watched the siblings work together to lose weight. Last season, Misty Wentworth underwent bariatric surgery for the first time. Her younger sister Amanda Halterman joined her, undergoing her bariatric revision surgery on the same day.
But while the other siblings continue losing weight after their surgeries, Amanda seems to have stalled. What exactly is fueling her weight loss plateau? Can she get back on track?
Many Factors Might Be Inhibiting Amanda Halterman’s Weight Loss Goals
As mentioned throughout the show, Amanda Halterman and her siblings didn’t have great childhoods. As a result, many of them turned to food to cope with difficult situations. In adulthood, Amanda would love to engage in healthier habits and lose weight. But there are several factors she needs to overcome.
On this season of 1000-Lb Sisters, fans watched Amanda struggle with her knee. She required surgery, which came with a lengthy recovery time. As a result, Amanda wasn’t able to get much exercise into her day.
During a weigh-in at the doctor’s office, the TLC star realized she was down into the 260 lb range. Although she didn’t lose as much weight as she hoped, she was well below 300 lbs. It’s an exciting accomplishment, but her medical team would have preferred Amanda to lose more weight after her revision surgery.
Stress Certainly Played A Factor In The Reality Star’s Stalled Weight Loss
Naturally, stress also isn’t great for weight loss. On top of the move to Florida and boyfriend drama, Amanda Halterman has been fighting with her siblings onscreen. She sincerely loves her family, but they all get under each other’s skin. This season in particular, Amanda has been at odds with Tammy.
An argument broke out between the sisters early in the season with Tammy packing her bags and moving out of Amanda’s rental home. Despite Amanda’s attempts to mend fences, Tammy wasn’t interested.
However, things seemed to take a turn for the better during last night’s new episode.
The family ventured to London to explore a new country and learn about their heritage. Chris frequently kept an eye on his sisters, noting that Amanda and Tammy were getting along well for a change. A preview for next week’s episode indicated that the sisters might patch things up for good.
Hopefully with some proper rest, care, and reduced stress levels, Amanda’s knee can heal and she can focus on weight loss goals once again.
