‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Tammy Slaton Shocked At Who They’re Related To
On this season of 1000-Lb Sisters, Tammy Slaton’s family wants to learn more about their history.
For years, their mother Darlene told everyone their family came from England. In fact, she even alluded that they were distant cousins of Queen Elizabeth II. This prompted Amy and Chris to meet with a genealogist and plan a family trip to London.
In tonight’s new episode, fans will get a chance to learn about the family’s history and what they discovered while speaking with a specialist. Check out the teaser to see what to expect.
Tammy Slaton’s Family Has A Surprising Connection To History
Although Tammy Slaton and her family shouldn’t expect to inherit the throne any time soon, it’s entirely possible they share an ancestor with Queen Elizabeth II.
But while meeting with a genealogist, the 1000-Lb Sisters cast learned some shocking information about their heritage that took them all by surprise.
“The Slatons have been making history since 1620! 🤯 Get the details on their shocking family discovery on a new #1000lbSisters, tonight at 9/8c,” the official TLC Instagram account captioned a post.
In the clip, a genealogist tells Tammy and her siblings that their ancestors came over on the Mayflower. The siblings’ jaws drop at the revelation and Amanda bluntly shouts, “Shut the hell up!”
“Our people was on the Mayflower?” Tammy asks in disbelief.
“That is surprising,” Misty adds.
“So our 9x great-grandfather brought the pilgrims over to the United States,” Chris concludes, with the genealogist confirming that their ancestor helped the ship land at Plymouth Rock.

1000-Lb Sisters fans are excited to see the full episode play out, but Instagram users poked fun at the siblings’ reactions in the comments. Tammy Slaton’s family had to immigrate to the Americas from Europe at some point, after all.
