‘The View’ Hosts Blasts Jokes About UnitedHealth Murder

The View hosts are not happy. Ever since the murder of UnitedHealth CEO Brian Thompson in New York City, many people, mostly online, have been making jokes about his death. Many of the jokes involve the police wanting to ensure that Brian is properly covered before investigating, mostly referencing insurance companies allowing people to die rather than cover their policies.

However, at least two hosts of The View are not getting behind these jokes and are blasting people for mocking a man’s murder. Here is what they had to say.

The View Blasts Jokes About UnitedHealth CEO’s Murder

When discussing the murder of UnitedHealth CEO Brian Thompson, Sunny Hostin was the first to speak out against the people making jokes about the death. She rightfully points out that Thompson had a family and that his death won’t change anything in the healthcare industry.

Sunny said that she understands that people are angry at the healthcare system. However, she said that she refuses to accept people making jokes about the man’s death. Most of the panelists refused to justify the online support for the murderer or the jokes about the tragedy.

Sara Haines chimed in as well. “The sheer stupidity that people would turn to violence and think they’re affecting change is the most ghastly part of this,” she said. “It’s not even just that [Thompson was] a father and that he had kids, he’s a human.”

She said that his death wouldn’t change anything because they would move someone else in to take his place, and the industry would stay the same. “The rage is understandable and real,” but “someone else is coming up.”

The View Hosts Believes The Death Will Change Nothing

While the death was seemingly done in protest of the insurance companies’ refusal to cover people who need medical care in certain cases, the hosts from The View said this murder wouldn’t fix that. “To think you can transform that machine by killing that soul’s moment here on earth is the most disturbing part of this story,” Sara said.

There are some thoughts that the killer might have been someone who lost a loved one who UnitedHealth refused to cover. The murder was clean and seemingly professionally done. If the person was a relative of a victim of the American healthcare system, he likely planned this out far in advance.

However, the jokes made about his death are what really bothered The View hosts. “I saw some prominent figures on the far left who were celebrating this. We have lost our collective conscience,” Alyssa Farah Griffin said. “I’m not even going to amplify and say who because it is ghoulish, it is disgusting, it is evil.”
