Ashley ShahAhmadi Catches The World’s Attention On ESPN
On Saturday night, during the SEC college football championship game between the Texas Longhorns and Georgia Bulldogs, an ESPN reporter caught the world’s attention. Ashley ShahAhmadi walked out onto the field wearing a sleeveless brown top and matching miniskirt.
She was coming out to host the evening’s Dr. Pepper halftime challenge. Two students competed to win a possibly $100,000 if they could chest-pass a football into a giant Dr. Pepper can. However, people were not as interested in the students. Many people online just wanted to talk about Ashley (via PEOPLE).
- “I love you. Marry me?”
- “I need you in my life.”
- “After replay assistance, I am devastated.”
That last comment was based on them showing a close-up of Ashley’s finger, which includes both an engagement ring and a wedding band. This caused many people on social media to show regret as if they had a chance at all with the ESPN reporter anyway.
Who Is Ashley ShahAhmadi From ESPN?
Getting past the people online sending out thirsty marriage proposals to a complete stranger on social media, Ashley ShahAhmadi has a huge career in journalism and is more than just a pretty face.
ShahAhmadi is an Emmy Award-winning sports journalist. ShahAhmadi began working for ESPN in 2023, so she has only been there for a little over one year. She was engaged to someone named Tyler in February 2023, and they got married in October of last year. While they don’t have kids, they do have two dogs.
Ashley graduated from the University of Georgia, so she might have had a dog to pull for in the game. The Georgia Bulldogs beat the Texas Longhorns by a score of 22-19, winning the game in overtime. Texas scored a field goal in OT, but Georgia scored a touchdown to win by three.
Georgia is now the number two seed in the new college football playoffs and will get a first-week bye. The Texas Longhorns are the fifth seed, so there is a chance the two teams could play again. ESPN is one of the hosts for the playoffs, so there is a chance Ashley ShahAhmadi could return to TV for one of those games.
