The Blue Bloods series finale is almost here. By the end of this week, the beloved CBS police procedural/family drama will end once and for all. While the show remains high in the ratings, and the cast and crew all wanted to return, CBS chose to cancel it while it remained on top. There is now just one episode left of the show.

Here is a look at when the Blue Bloods finale will air and what fans can expect from the series finale.

When Is The Blue Bloods Series Finale?

The Blue Bloods season finale is less than a week away. The final episode will air on Friday night, December 13. This is the second part of a two-part series finale.

All the main cast will be on hand for the finale, including Tom Selleck (Frank), Donnie Wahlberg (Danny), Bridget Moynahan (Erin), Will Estes (Jamie), Len Cariou (Henry), Vanessa Ray (Eddie), and Marisa Ramirez (Baez). There will also be one last Reagan family dinner, which Donnie Wahlberg said was emotional to film (via TV Insider).

For the cast, it is bittersweet as none of them wanted the show to end. Donnie Wahlberg has said he didn’t understand the decision to end the series. Tom Selleck fought for it until the end, although he said he is now ready to move on. He even mentioned seeking a role in a Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone) series. Abigail Hawk also has a new movie coming out called Regarding Us.

But there is still one more episode of Blue Bloods left.

What Will Happen In The Blue Bloods Series Finale?

The Blue Bloods season finale is titled “End of Tour.” It also has a teaser trailer. The teaser has Tom Selleck’s Frank Reagan delivering a statement in which he says that every day, they have the responsibility to keep New Yorkers safe from crime and terrorists.

The teaser then shows Mayor Pete being shot and the officers with guns drawn closing in on someone. After this, Eddie yells, “There is an officer down.” Danny is on the phone and says, “You know how this ends. There is then a quick shot of a police funeral with Frank in attendance.

The synopsis reads: “It’s all hands on deck for the Reagan family, as they race to stop deadly mayhem in the city when the gangs of New York unite together to demand amnesty for the release of their imprisoned members and those awaiting trial, in the historic series finale episode of Blue Bloods.”
