It was an awful moment when Anna Cardwell shared she had stage 4 adrenal carcinoma. It made her sister, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson question whether or not she should move to Colorado for college. She did not want to miss a moment with Anna or not be there if she needed her. One big step that Anna took was to marry her long-term boyfriend, Eldridge Toney. The two had been together since 2017 and even tried to have a baby but were unsuccessful. She already had two children, Kaitlyn and Kylee from previous relationships.

Yet, Eldridge embraced them both and they were a sweet little family. The two tied the knot in a backyard ceremony and it was a sweet moment. No one knew what was next or what was to come but they were taking each moment as it came. By the end of 2023, Anna was rapidly declining and in early December, her family was rushing to be by her side and say goodbye. She was cremated and they took some of her ashes to the ocean in a ceremony seen on Mama June: Family Crisis. Now, Eldridge has done something interesting with his late wife’s ashes.

According to The Sun, Eldridge found a tattoo artist who put Anna Cardwell’s ashes into a memorial tattoo. It was something that he did almost instantaneously:

“I actually got a tattoo with her ashes in the ink. That’s something I did for her right off the bat. I found a really good tattoo artist- a licensed tattoo artist- that was willing to do the ashes for me.”

He got her name as well as their wedding date on his arm so he always has his late wife with him:

“I feel like that was a good way to memorialize her, I always have it on my arm and it’ll never go away.”

Never Stop The Chatter

Eldridge Toney added that he is always talking about Anna Cardwell in conversations. He noted that many of his friends knew her so he tends to bring her up often. However, he does hope he is not bugging them with the amount he talks about Anna. At the same time, Eldridge makes it a point to talk about her with her daughters, Kylee and Kaitlyn. Though the girls reside apart, that does not stop him from keeping the conversation going:

“I always talk about her all the time and I talk about her with the girls. I always want to make sure they know how much their mom loved them and cared for them, and did right by them.”

He recently shared that he will be seeing Kylee next weekend for her birthday and he visits Kaitlyn when he can. As for how the family is memorializing the first anniversary of Anna’s passing, Eldridge said that they are hoping to do something. They do not want to be sad and depressed:

“We’re going to try and make the best of the day and try not to be depressed all solo and alone.”
