News has come out that actor Thom Christopher, who was known for his work on the soap One Life to Live, has passed away. The actor had a varied career, appearing in multiple series, especially soaps. Christopher was 84 at the time of his death.

Thom Christopher’s On-Screen Son Shared The News Of His Passing

Christopher’s death was confirmed by one of his co-stars on One Life to Life, Anthony Crivello. Crivello had notably played Johnny Dee Hesser, Christopher’s on-screen son, on the soap, also appearing around the time Christopher joined the soap.

Taking to Facebook, Crivello had shared, “My dear friend of many years, actor [Thom Christopher] passed today. He was always a gentleman, always supportive, and he and his wife Judith who proceeded him in death, where always gracious to me and welcoming. Thom and I worked together on the [ABC] daytime series [One Life to Live] in the 1990s.”

As the post continued, “It was a wonderful time, difficult hours and long days, but joyful each minute. May Thom fly on Wings of Angels to be beside his beloved Judith, and may they enjoy each other’s company once again, beside the ‘Pearly Gates’ of heaven.”

The post was paired with a variety of photos. Christopher and Crivello could be seen with actress Audrey Landers, who also played Christopher’s daughter on One Life to Live.

Christopher studied acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City. One of his most famous roles would end up being Hawk, a human-bird hybrid warrior on Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. First appearing in the show’s second season in 1981, he appeared in eleven episodes.

In the 1990s, Christopher joined the cast of One Life to Live. On the show, he played Pennsylvania mob boss Carlo Hesser.

The One Life To Live Star Also Appeared In Guiding Light

First appearing on the soap in 1990, Christopher appeared as the character as late as 2008. Starting in 1992, he also briefly appeared as Mortimer Bern, the character’s meeker twin.

Throughout the 1990s, Christopher also appeared in a variety of other soaps. This included Loving, where he played Dante Partou and Joe Young, and Guiding Light, where he played Colonel Dax.

The actor also made appearances on shows like Law & Order and Murder She Wrote. As a voice actor, Christopher also served as the voice of The Hacker in the video game, Cyberchase: Castleblanca Quest, filling in for Christopher Lloyd.

As Crivello also noted, the actor was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Leverone. According to Deadline, Leverone passed away in 2019.
