‘Gilmore Girls’ Long Awaited Luke And Lorelai Marriage Update

It’s been eight years since Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life came out. Now, this holiday season, fans finally got an update on the status of some of their favorite characters. Keep reading to find out more.

Gilmore Girls Cast Back Together

As mentioned above it’s been eight years since the Gilmore Girls reboot came out and nearly seventeen years since the original show aired its final episode. So, fans were shocked when the cast came back together once again. This time, for a Walmart commercial. In the ad, fans get to see Kirk, Luke, Lorelai, and even the town troubadour who is, of course, still playing music for the town of Stars Hollow. Unfortunately, other main characters like Rory Gilmore sat this one out.

The clip shows Lorelai walking through town before stopping at Luke’s asking for her signature “coffee, coffee, coffee please.” Luke, instead of serving her, pulls out a blue Walmart box. When Lorelai opens it, there’s a Keurig inside. “Luke, you shouldn’t have!” she says when she opens the box to which Luke responds “I had to, you’re drinking me out of business.”

The commercial ends with the couple walking outside together, being greeted by Lorelai’s favorite thing, snow.

However, fans are noticing one major thing in this short but sweet glimpse into the Gilmore Girls world. Luke and Lorelai are wearing wedding rings.

Anyone who watched the reboot of the show knows that at the very end, the pair ended up getting married. However, this news could come as a shock to those who decided they just wanted to stick with the original show. Additionally, this proves that the pair were really meant to be together and even eight years later are still seemingly happily married to each other.

What’s Next For Gilmore Girls?

Of course, this brings up some major questions…what comes next for everyone’s favorite show? The reboot left fans in a more uncomfortable place than they started with Rory revealing that she’s pregnant. It seems fans are desperate to see where she is now and who the baby’s father is. After all, the baby is at least seven years old by now.

“So cruel please do a season 2 year in the life or maybe a reboot,” one person writes.

Unfortunately for fans, there’s still no update on if this will ever come to fruition.
