Ariana Grande Says She Will Never Return To ‘The Voice’
The Voice has many returning coaches. People like Kelly Clarkson have returned to the show, and Adam Levine will even be back next season. However, one former coach said she would never return to the show. That is Ariana Grande, who is now celebrating her record-setting movie musical, Wicked.
Here is why Ariana said The Voice is not for her.
Ariana Grande Was A Coach On The Voice
Ariana Grande loved coaching the aspiring singers on The Voice. Grande was a coach in Season 21 when NBC thought her name could help increase ratings and bring in a younger audience.
While Ariana Grande was a huge pickup for The Voice, she wasn’t successful in her sole season. She had no one in the finals, and her last singers (Jim and Sasha Allen) went home in the semifinals. This means she was watching the end when Kelly Clarkson’s band, Girl Named Tom, won the season.
However, it wasn’t her failure to lead anyone to the finals that soured her to the reality singing competition series. Instead, it is the fact that the coaches have to be the ones to send people home throughout the season. “I got so emotionally attached to everyone,” Ariana said (via Los Culturistas). “That’s my problem.”
She said it is hard to care for all these contestants and get “in there with everyone.” She said she loves them all so much and loves meeting people. “I felt so invested. And I still do, like I see them all on Instagram.”
Ariana Grande Keeps In Contact With Former Contestants
It is almost assumed that once a contestant goes home from The Voice, they likely never hear from their coaches again. There are exceptions when the eliminated contestants become big names, but most realize this is a one-time partnership that ends when the season ends.
However, Ariana said she tries to keep in contact with the singers she coached, including Bella DeNapoli, David Vogel, and Raquel Trinidad. However, she admitted that she has been so busy recently that she isn’t keeping in contact with many people right now.
“But I love them and I’m in touch with them on Instagram,” she added. “I like their posts, I see their things, I see what they’re up to.” She emphasized this by saying that Bella recently had a baby and that Sasha Allen was releasing solo music.
Ariana Grande’s new movie Wicked has been a monster hit. It has already brought in over $268 million in North America and $365 million worldwide in just two weeks.
