‘Who’s The Boss’ Danny Pintauro Hospitalized After Horrific Crash
Danny Pintauro of Who’s the Boss? fame has been hospitalized following a recent scooter accident. It’s believed that the actor’s stomach lining has been torn. The actor himself shared the news through Instagram.
Danny Pintauro Revealed The Incident Took Place On Thanksgiving
Pintauro is arguably best known for playing Jonathan on the sitcom, Who’s the Boss?. In the series, he played the son of Judith Light’s character Angela Bower.
Added to this, Pintauro was one of the first actors to play Paul Ryan on As the World Turns before the character was aged up. In addition, he also famously played Tad Trenton in the 1983 horror film Cujo.
Taking to Instagram, as noted by US Weekly, the actor recently shared the news of his recent injury. As he wrote in the caption, “No balloons, food, or real flowers allowed in ICU!”
In the video, Pinatauro shared, “On Thanksgiving night, I got into a scooter accident. The bike lane I was riding in was suddenly blocked with cones and I was forced to choose between a van and a pylon. The pylons hurt!!”
“Have a terrible scrape on my arm and I was pretty convinced I had broken my arm. The new morning, it was a whole lot better, so I didn’t worry as much.”
However, as days went by, the actor noted he felt “weird chest pains.” Comparing them to a hernia, he noted, “Before long, the pain was so significant all across my chest and my stomach muscles and my shoulder muscles that I could barely breath. It was the worse moment of my life.”
Eventually, Pintauro’s husband, Wil Tabares, took him to the hospital so he could get tested. He then shared, “They discovered that I had an infection in my bloodstream due to a tear in my stomach lining — air and stomach acid, etc., were escaping into my abdomen.”
The Actor Tried To Keep A Sense Of Humor In The Post
“It’s been the most excruciating pain I’ve ever felt in my whole life. So I had to have emergency surgery last night to repair the tear.”
However, Pintauro assured the surgery went well and he was relieved from much of the pain. He noted another tube will be kept in his stomach for a few days to help remove acids without harming the stitches.

Pintaruo added that this “means that I won’t be eating or drinking anything for the next three days. They always say this but it’s very true, if I had waited any longer, I could have died. My body was the one who told me something was absolutely wrong.”
Despite the incident, Pintauro still tried to have a sense of humor as he ended the post. As he wrote, “It was absolutely terrifying. If anybody might wanna send me flowers, I wouldn’t be opposed. Lol just kidding.”
