‘Yellowstone’ Finale: Everything To Know About Last Episode

Yellowstone is roaring to an end. The final part of Season 6 opened with a bang when Kevin Coster’s John Dutton was murdered. It wasn’t long before another murder rocked the cast of characters, and only a few episodes remain.

Here is a look at what you can expect from the series finale and when you can see how it all ends.

When Is The Yellowstone Series Finale

When Yellowstone Season 6, part 2 began, many questions remained. The biggest was what would happen to Kevin Costner’s John Dutton, the show’s main star. The answer was given in the first episode when John’s body was found dead. While it looked like death by suicide, he was murdered, and it is the catalyst for the final episodes.

However, John’s death wasn’t the only shocker. While out in public, someone shot and killed Sarah Atwood, and fans were shocked when she was gunned down in her car. Since Sarah was a villain in the series, her murder remains shocking, and it seems that no one is safe as the final episode closes in.

The episode also showed that the medical examiner changed the ruling on John’s death, and that means that Jamie and Sarah were in the clear. That made Sarah’s death even more shocking since she was a loose end for Grant. Jamie has almost no allies now as he battles his sister, Beth, as John’s death has torn the family apart.

Yellowstone, Season 5 Part 2, finishes its run on the Paramount Network on Sunday, December 15, at 8/7c.

Could Yellowstone Get A Surprise Season 6?

While this is Yellowstone’s end, fans still hold out hope that the show could return anyway. Paramount Network canceled the series, and this is the final season. However, there have been rumors that a surprise Season 6 renewal could come if these final episodes bring in massive viewership numbers.

With that said, the murder of John Dutton and now Sarah Atwood makes it look like Taylor Sheridan is sending things off with an explosion. Even if there were a sixth season, it wouldn’t look anything like what came before,e with the death and destruction left in its wake.

With that said, the remaining actors signed “pay-or-play” contracts after Kevin Costner quit. This means they have deals to return if there is a surprise sixth season. Not only that, but this also means they will be paid even if there isn’t a sixth season. This means the network might want to get something in return for that money.

  1. The description of Yellowstones final episode 12/08 on my cable network states “John Dutton tries to protect his ranch, the largest in the United States from land developers, an Indian Reservation and Americas first National Park.” Wouldn’t that be something….Faking the Governors death to protect him and flush out the would be assassins!

  2. I love yellowstone and don’t want it to end I hope John Dutton is alive and him and Jamie planed the hole thing to bring the bad people down.

  3. Kelly Riley. Beth Dutton. I like her style!
I love her off season British accent, and the Brits. What ever. Should there be another season. Yellowstone fans need a little more time with the series.
Please, Mr. Sheridan. Don’t stop the series now.
Dutton’s have been fighting too hard. For the ranch. for the series. we don’t care what plot or twist the series takes. Don’t give us an unfinished cliff hanger. we bingers deserve better!
    The entire cast is great!
that includes Keven Costner, aka. John Dutton as well!
It’s a script. But, I’ve learned so many words of wisdom from JohnDutton!

  4. I have watched every episode and I really hope the powers that be decide to continue on with another season or two. I think there’s a big enough fan base to warrant more seasons. And hopefully they’ll work out something with Kevin Costner to get him back.

  5. I have watched Yellowstone since the first episode (even the re-runs) and do not wish for it to end this season.

All of the cast are excellent actors…..Taylor Sheridan is one heck of a writer!!.

Please continue with future seasons to come so that your fans get more of the show. Paramount needs to re-consider the end of the season.

  6. It’s a shame we finally get a great hit show with such a following and it’s scheduled to end. Why can’t it continue even if John is gone Taylor? What happened to the spin offs? What happened to the Four Sixes? Come on and give us a continuation with more than 6 or 8 episodes. Maybe now that Kevin finished his other show and is divorced he’d be willing to return. Worth a shot. After all what’s up with all the new Yellowstone merchandise? Hmmm?

  7. Remember the Indian in the last episode in 1883 said they could have it for 7 generations. Tate is the 7th generation, and he is an Indian.
