‘SYTYCD’ Brooklyn Larsen Shares Devastating Death Of Son
Brooklyn Larsen, best known for So You Think You Can Dance, recently shared some devastating news with fans. The dancer and TV personality revealed she suffered a stillbirth. Taking to Instagram, Larsen went into detail about the hours leading up to the tragedy.
Brooklyn Larsen Shared The News In A Joint Post With Husband Tanner
Larsen previously competed as a dancer on So You Think You Can Dance back in 2017. She ultimately finished in the Top 16 on the show.
The dancer married her husband Tanner back in 2023. The two were expecting a baby boy together, having announced the pregnancy back in August. Brooklyn also has a son, Rome, with a previous partner.
Unfortunately, on Instagram, Brooklyn shared the tragic news that the pregnancy ended in a stillbirth. In a joint post, Brooklyn and Tanner shared that, “Our hearts are completely shattered. Our perfect little boy didn’t make it.”

Sharing the news this past Thursday, they wrote that Brooklyn went into labor at “40 weeks and 2 days” on November 24. As they shared, “We arrived at the hospital, full of excitement, only to be told the devastating news that they couldn’t find his heartbeat.”
Brooklyn Also Endured A Miscarriage This Past December
“The following couple of hours were a complete blur. It didn’t make sense. Every single checkup, every ultrasound, every test had shown nothing but a healthy baby. He was always measuring big, always moving, always so active. We never imagined that this could happen. In an instant, our best day became our worst.”
“At 11:23am on Monday morning, Brooklyn delivered our son in less than 9 minutes. 8 lbs 10 oz of pure perfection … Holding him, memorizing every feature of his, feeling his spirit—he was everything we had dreamed of.”

The couple wrote they were “blessed to spend the next 12 precious hours with [their son].” The post also contained four black-and-white photos from after their son’s birth. As noted by People, one photo featured the couple holding the infant’s hand while another saw the two cry with their stillborn son.
The post ended noting, “We can’t fully express the depth of the pain we feel losing our son and Rome losing his little brother. Our son, our angel.”
Tragically, the couple previously shared that Brooklyn endured a miscarriage back in December 2023. The news had been shared in an Instagram Reels post which had also announced Brooklyn’s most recent pregnancy.
In another, earlier Instagram post, the So You Think You Can Dance alum could be seen with her son Rome, showing off her pregnant belly. As she wrote, “40 weeks pregnant and baby boy is measuring big. Sounds like my identical experience with Rome! 41 weeks I’m on my way”
