‘Blue Bloods’ Abigail Hawk Picks Up Next Role After Finale
Blue Bloods is coming to an end in December. While the finale has yet to air, the cast members have been figuring out what they are planning to do next in their careers. This includes Abigail Hawk, who has played Detective Abigail Baker since 2010. She now already has a movie coming out soon.
Here is what you need to know about Abigail’s post-Blue Bloods career.
What Is Next For Abigail Hawk From Blue Bloods?
Abigail Hawk is mostly known for her acting career in Blue Bloods. While many of her co-stars have extensive careers in movies and TV, Abigail has only appeared as a regular cast member in one other TV show (1995’s Reality Check) and has very little experience in movies.
However, with her success in Blue Bloods, Abigail now has a chance to prove herself in other acting endeavors. She already has a new movie coming out in December. The movie Regarding Us will have a limited theatrical release from December 6 to December 12 in New York.
The synopsis reads: “Fired from her teaching job at a Catholic school, a transgender woman contemplates suicide until she meets a young girl with two fathers, and they have a profound impact on each other’s lives.”
Abigail said that this is very similar to working on Blue Bloods. “The first thing I noticed when I walked onto David Beck’s set was the immediate warmth and welcome,” the actress said (via Digital Journal). “I felt like I had known these people for years… I was also so taken with the crew’s professionalism and passion – everyone shared the same vision and went to work executing it flawlessly and creatively.”
Abigail Hawk Didn’t Want Blue Bloods To End
While Abigail Hawk has a chance to work on other projects, she joins Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg as actors who were unhappy that Blue Bloods is ending.
Tom Selleck has been very open about its ending. He takes every chance to remind people that it was always one of the most-watched shows on TV every week and the best on Friday nights. Donnie Wahlberg also said he had no idea why the network had canceled the show while it was still atop the ratings.
“I’m still grieving because we all wanted to continue. This is not something any of us wanted,” Abigail said (via Hello!). “We felt that there was so much more we could continue telling and sharing and creating. But, I do think there are certain characters that could continue to have quite an amazing and interesting life beyond the world with the Reagans. And, I think Abigail Baker is one of them.”
