Savannah Guthrie And Hoda Kotb Cover Botched Parade Moment
Thursday, November 28th featured the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Today hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb were there to cover the action as it happened live. This year’s parade featured marching bands, floats, performers, and musical displays. Paradegoers had to battle the elements to enjoy this annual tradition. However, not everything went according to plan this year. Thankfully Savannah and Hoda were there to cover.
Macy’s Parade Botched Moment
This year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade featured a hand-made children’s carousel created from a huge Vermont White Spruce Christmas tree. The exhibit encountered a problem when The War and Treaty’s music did not start for their presentation. Hoda Kotb stepped up beautifully describing the display instead. She said:
“Rockin around the three-story tall Vermont White Spruce Christmas tree is a hand-crafted children’s carousel and with a gorgeous array of some of their 40 different true-to-life trees. It’s clear this scene will be an evergreen tradition.”
Savannah Guthrie was announcing The War and Treaty group that was actingon the Balsam Hill float, when the groups music failed to start. Hoda announced, “Well, you know what, every now and then there’s a little hiccup.” Fans continued to applaud the group despite their lack of singing. Savannah continued to explain to the crowd “We’re getting the music, but it will be worth it! “They should be coming up any moment now.” The War and Treaty was made up of a husband and wife duo Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter.
Savannah Guthrie And Hoda Kotb Continue To Cover
It did take several minutes to get the music working for The War and Treaty to complete their performance. In the meantime, Hoda Kotb continued to entertain the crowd by shouting out to all of the marching bands. In addition, she detailed some of the other floats that were coming down the streets. Eventually, producers cut to a commercial break as Hoda giggles in the background.
After a brief commercial break, the parade continued and the Trotters were able to perform their rendition of “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).” This year Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade goers had to battle adverse weather to enjoy the annual tradition. Despite the horrible weather and minor mishaps, the parade was enjoyed by many. Thursday’s Thanksgiving parade was also bitter sweet for Hoda Kotb as it was her last as host of the Today Show. She will be leaving Today in early 2025 to spend more time with her family.
