Bruce Willis’ Daughters Share Rare Pic Update Amid Dementia Battle
Bruce Willis recently appeared in photos with his daughters. This marks a rare appearance from the actor two years following his dementia diagnosis. Since his diagnosis, the star’s family have shared a few statements with fans about his condition.
Bruce Willis Appeared With Two Of His Daughters
As an actor, Willis is arguably best known for playing John McClane in the Die Hard film franchise. Other notable film roles for the actor include Pulp Fiction, The Fifth Element, The Sixth Sense, and Sin City.
In 2022, Willis retired from acting due to aphasia. The following year, he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. Since then, the actor has been keeping a low profile.
This past Thanksgiving, Willis’ daughters, Tallulah and Scout Willis, shared photos with their father on Instagram. The actor shares Tallulah and Scout with his ex-wife Demi Moore.
In the two photos, the actor is seen with his daughters at his side. In the second photo, Bruce can be seen holding a plaque reading, “Best Dad Ever.”
Many fans took to the comments to share their thoughts with Willis’ family. A few simply wrote things like “Grateful,” “Beautiful,” or shared a bunch of heart emojis.

As it reads, “Our family wanted to start by expressing our deepest gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love, support and wonderful stories we have all received since sharing Bruce’s original diagnosis.” This post continued, “Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD).”
In an essay written for Vogue, Tallulah also shared that she had sensed something was wrong with her father even before he was diagnosed. As she shared, “It started out with a kind of vague unresponsiveness, which the family chalked up to Hollywood hearing loss: ‘Speak up! ‘Die Hard’ messed with Dad’s ears.'” She continued that, “Later that unresponsiveness broadened, and I sometimes took it personally.”
As Tallulah noted, “I keep flipping between the present and the past when I talk about Bruce: he is, he was, he is, he was. That’s because I have hopes for my father that I’m so reluctant to let go of.”
