Not only did they join the entertainment industry as actors but they continue to dive into their personal lives while trying to brighten people’s days. But Kelly gets tired of some trolls and their constant pushback. She shut down critics telling them to “calm down” and “get a life.”

Kelly Ripa Tries To Tread Lightly

While Live With Kelly And Mark tried to brighten their audience’s spirits ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, Kelly Ripa admits she may have touched on a controversial topic. When she brought up one famous side, she had no idea she was open-firing on a topic near and dear to some people’s hearts. Admittedly, she understands that different regions of the United States view Thanksgiving from different angles. Even when sharing her mashed potatoes recipe, she gently suggested people use “Yukon Golds” even though she knows people have different preferences.

However, until the show was over, she didn’t realize the extent of the deep-rooted argument of “stuffing” vs. “dressing.” On Monday, November 25, Kelly pointed out the difference between stuffing and dressing. Correspondingly, she says the reason people use “stuffing” or “dressing” depends on the area of the country they are living. Additionally, Mark commented that he “Didn’t know the difference.” Further elaborating, Kelly asserts that Southerners tend to “politely” say “dressing” while the Northeasterners serve stuffing. She said, it was the same thing but the dialects of the regions just use differing words. However, she got plenty of backlash for her explanation.

Kelly Ripa Clears Up Confusion

After getting many Live viewers’ opinions, Kelly Ripa realized how passionate people are about their stuffing and dressing. In an attempt to clarify, she discussed it further on the Tuesday episode. She states, “Yesterday, I simply read an article that I didn’t write.” Then, Kelly adds, “So, don’t shoot the messenger.” However, Kelly lets fans know she was beaten up over her earlier assumptions, she says, “But, the messenger was attacked viciously. I talked about the difference between stuffing and dressing. I mean, forget any political discourse. The real discourse is the people arguing about stuffing and dressing.

Unintentionally, she struck up a controversy on the topic. She says, “But you, you at home, informed me that I, Kelly Ripa, am wrong again.” But she confesses there was an error after reviewing feedback. Additionally, she said she doesn’t consider “ones on social media” because they are too harsh in their criticism. Furthermore, Kelly says sarcastically, “Thank you for setting me straight America.” They read several people’s explanations of the difference that boiled down to, “Stuffing is what goes inside the turkey, if it doesn’t go inside the turkey, if it’s on the side, it’s dressing.” Noting that it was “According to some on the internet, who have a lot of time on their hands.”
