‘The View’ Holiday Season Shaking Up Show Schedule

The holiday season is here. Thanksgiving is less than a week away, and Christmas is just around the corner. This means many television shows are about to take breaks and get delayed. This also includes The View, which will have a different schedule during the holiday season.

Here is what you need to know about the daytime talk show’s schedule this upcoming week.

What Is The View‘s Holiday Schedule?

Most long-time fans of The View know that Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg take time off during the holidays. They spend time with their families and sometimes work on other projects during the season. That won’t change this year; the daytime talk show will have a different schedule over the next week.

Whoopi Goldberg will be taking on a role this season in the Broadway musical Annie. That will take away her time from working on the talk show. That won’t be a problem, thanks to the holiday season changing things up schedule-wise for the ladies.

Brian Teta, the executive producer of The View, has a podcast called The View: Behind the Table. He had Ana Navarro on this podcast and discussed the Thanksgiving week schedule. He said there would be no new podcast episodes for a week because they would not be filming any new shows in the studio.

No live episodes are being taped the week of Thanksgiving. However, new episodes will air, as they prerecorded some, but none will feature “current content.” Also, the Thanksgiving and Black Friday episodes will all be reruns. By doing stuff early, all the cast can enjoy the holidays with their families.

The next live episodes will be on December 2.

Whoopi Goldberg Joining Cast Of Annie

Whoopi Goldberg will star in the Broadway adaptation of Annie. In addition to hosting The View, she is an EGOT winner and has won an Emmy (The View), Grammy (Whoopi Goldberg: Original Broadway Show Recording), Oscar (Ghost), and Tony Award (Thoroughly Modern Millie).

Whoopi will play Miss Hannigan in Annie’s New York City engagement. She will perform in the shows from December 11 through January 5, 2025. The show will start on Broadway on December 4, but Whoopi won’t come on until a week later.

In a fun bit of trivia, Jenn Thompson played Pepper in the original Broadway production of Annie when she was only 10. Thompson is who is now directing Annie on this run, which will tour in 25 cities across North America, in addition to its New York stop.
