Rachael Ray’s New Podcast Flops Just Weeks After Launch
Rachael Ray continues to push on despite fans’ concerns about her health. Her new podcast’s name shows exactly what she is doing when it comes to her work and keeping busy. However, Ray might have gotten some bad news concerning her podcast, I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead.
Here is how Rachael’s podcast performed when it premiered recently and why this isn’t good news for the celebrity chef.
Rachael Ray Recently Launched New Podcast
Rachael Ray started a new podcast titled I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead, and she hopes her viewers will follow her from television to social media to her new podcast, as she keeps reinventing herself. The first episode of the new podcast premiered on Tuesday, October 22.
This is a new weekly podcast, so Rachael Ray is putting lots of work into it and wants this to be a new way for her to keep connected with her fans. There is one big problem, though. Almost no one is listening to it.
It has been over a month since the first episode, and it has not broken into the top 250 of Apple podcasts (via The U.S. Sun). This is based on Chartable’s rankings. It is in the Arts and the Society & Culture sections of podcasts. The good news is that it does rank 95th in the Arts category, but that is still really low for a celebrity podcast.
Deb Perelman and J. Kenji López-Alt’s The Recipe with Kenji and Deb (13th) and Food Network star Ina Garten’s Be My Guest with Ina Garten (22nd) are examples of podcasts that rank higher than Rachael Ray.
Even worse is the Society & Culture category, where Ray’s podcast didn’t rank at all.
Rachael Ray Has Been Promoting The New Podcast
Rachael Ray has been letting her fans know about the new podcast on social media. However, she gave very little notice, as she started promoting it as coming soon on October 14, just one week before it premiered.
She said that I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead is about “Drive, what fuels people who love hard work and what we can learn from one another. I feel at my best when I am pressed. When I am being my most productive. That is why I have always said, I’ll sleep when I’m dead.”
She seemed excited about people joining her for the podcast. The show has already had guests, including actors, chefs, and fitness trainers. However, if the show continues not to rank, it will be hard for anyone to find it as the podcast search engines won’t promote it. The show could end as soon as it started.
