Woolery worked on Wheel of Fortune from 1975 to 1981. Pat Sajak replaced him as the host after he left that job. He then moved on to Love Connection, a hosting job he held from 1983 to 1994. During the same time, he hosted Scrabble from 1984 to 1990 and again in 1993.
In 1997, he signed on to host The Dating Game from 1997 to 1999, Greed from 1999 to 2000, and Lingo from 2002 to 2007. He even hosted a game show in 2024 called 80s Quiz Show. On top of game shows, he had a talk show in 1991 called The Chuck Woolery Show.

Chuck Woolery was born in Kentucky in 1941. After high school, he joined the Navy in 1960 and served for two years before heading to college at Morehead State University. He then dropped out of college and started a music career while also working as a sales representative.

As a musician, he was part of a group called The Bordermen in the early 1960s. He provided vocals and played the double bass. It was a folk band. He was also part of a psychedelic pop duo called The Avant-Garde. He also released five albums, represented by Columbia and then RCA.
His singles “Painted Lady” and “The Greatest Love Affair” reached #78 and #94, respectively, on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
Chuck started acting in the 1970s in several smaller films and TV shows. He became a star when he signed on as a game show host for Wheel of Fortune. He hosted 160 episodes over six seasons, but he left after a salary dispute.

Woolery married Hayes in 1963. They had a daughter, Katherine, and a son, Chad. They also adopted another son, Cary. He had three other kids with his next two wives (Melissa, Sean, and Michael). He married Kim Barnes in 2006 and was married to her until his death.
Woolery’s friend, Mark Young, reported on his death. Young said Woolery died in his home in Texas on Saturday.
