Kanye West Sued For Horrific Sexual Assault By ‘America’s Next Top Model’
A former America’s Next Top Model contestant, Jenn An, has issued a lawsuit against rapper and producer Kanye “Ye” West over allegations of sexual assault and strangulation. The alleged incident took place in 2010 during the filming of a music video. The suit also names two record labels.
The Incident Allegedly Took Place At The 2010 Filming Of A Music Video
Back in 2009, An had appeared in the 13th season of America’s Next Top Model. Finishing in Episode 11, she and Erin Wagner ended up taking the third and fourth place.
In 2010, An was on set during the filming of La Roux’s music video for “In for the Kill.” West is notably featured on the remix of the song.
Filming took place at a Chelsea Hotel suite in New York City. According to An, West selected her to be a background actor and model. Allegedly, he said, “Give me the Asian girl.” An claims, upon pointing out she wasn’t wearing much, he responded by saying, “That’s why I chose you.”
West was then said to have ordered the other background actors and model to leave. According to The Wrap, that is when he allegedly started “filming the sexual assault to which he was about to subject Plaintiff.”
A Few Record Labels Have Also Been Named In The Suit
An then claimed West began to strangle her with both hands. She then claimed he “rammed several fingers down her throat, continuously moved them in and out, and gagged her.”
An said she believed this took place for over a minute. She claimed this was done “to emulate forced oral sex, and [that West] screamed, ‘This is art. This is f–king art. I am like Picasso.’”
The suit, which was filed this past Friday, also names Interscope and Universal Music Group. Allegedly, this was for allowing West to “gag Plaintiff on a music video set, without consequence.”
In addition, the suit also accused Universal Music Group and its affiliates of “systematically discriminates against women, by continuing to work with artists with well-documented histories of sexual harassment and discrimination.”
The suit continues that West’s “gendered, hateful, and abusive controversies were a brand, which was too profitable for Defendant Universal Music to intervene, despite his unlawful conduct.” At this time, An seeks a trial by jury for punitive damages, legal costs, and “damages for mental, emotional and physical injury, distress, pain and suffering and injury to reputation.”
In addition to her appearance on America’s Next Top Model, An also has a few acting credits to her name. She has made appearances in shows like How I Met Your Father, The Mindy Project, and Grey’s Anatomy.
